Vile product of Welfare UK
Vile product of Welfare UK ....... Man who bred 17 babies by five women to milk benefits system is found guilty of killing six of them.
A truly evil crime and today he and others will be sentenced and hopefully locked up for a very long time.
Watching a documentary about this last night it is hard to be believe or comprehend that such evilness exists.

Apologies, I hadn't realised this last paragragh hadn't copied.
For anyone not familar with the story ...
He treated his 17 sons and daughters like cash cows – generating a staggering benefits income of £60,000 a year.Yesterday, Mick Philpott remained shameless to the last. The drug-taking layabout, who embodies everything that is wrong with the welfare state, was still smiling even after being convicted of killing six of his children. As Mick Philpott, 56, his wife Mairead, 31, and friend Paul Mosley were convicted of manslaughter, shocking images were released for the first time showing their charred home in Allenton, Derby. They show the gutted bathroom and the remains of the dining room following the fire which investigators said would have reached more than 500C (932F). The blaze killed Duwayne, 13, Jade Philpott, 10, and her brothers John, nine, Jack, eight, Jayden, five and Jesse, six.

I found last night's documentary quite upsetting, to think that children had to suffer at the hands of such evil people is heart breaking.
Just hope they get their just desserts and the judge locks them up for life.

Agree, he is a disgusting example of humanity, thank god not many of his sort around. Hope he gets the maximum sentence allowed for manslaughter, although I think it should have been murder.

Jo I also watched last nights documentary and totally agree with you what absolute low life's this couple were, in my view a case where the death penalty would have been justified.
Whatever sentence they get today, it will not be long enough and I hope their lives in prison are made a living hell.

I agree Jacknian it should have been treated as murder, I agree with you too Delboy the death penalty would have been justified, let's hope he / they get their just deserts, even the most hardened criminals do not tolerate anything to do with child crime so they will not have it easy.

Cold, calculating and thoroughly immoral right up to the end. I cannot believe his total lack of remorse. Whatever sentence he gets I hope those already inside will see to it he gets the welcome he deserves.

Re: Vile product of Welfare UK
You're right Dark Knight but Mick Philpott was the main instigator, an evil and controlling man who devised a plot to get custody of the rest of his children and blaming his ex partner for the crime whilst he would walk away as some kind of hero for rescuing his children. The other two were willing partners, and no less deserving of the punishment which is to be meted out to them.
There was a report on TV this morning that he was selling the tributes put out by neighbours and pocketing the money for himself. There is no limit to his vile trade.

I didn't watch the documentary. Partly I didn't realise it was on and I wouldn't allow scum like that into my living room even if was via the TV.
I certainly wouldn't want to be in either of their shoes when they go to prison.

It is said that the love of money is the root of all evil. I would venture to suggest that the abuse of sex plays a big role, too.
I very much doubt if he'll get the welcome Stephen, OBF and Delboy hope for - he'll be stashed away in solitary for his own protection.

I think I've heard correctly - the Judge will now pass sentence tomorrow
I'm with the rest of you on this one. I just feel so sick about it all.

Re: Vile product of Welfare UK
I was sickened last night to hear that whilst his son was fighting for his life upstairs he and his friends were downstairs having a food fight, throwing chips around. He went to see his children in the mortuary and was larking about, at one time he had a policeman in a head lock. There's just a total lack of respect for those children.
I just hope the do-gooders don't appear over the horizon looking to make excuses for their behaviour. How long before their lawyers will be looking to add to their expenses by lodging an appeal, whatever the sentence?

It's not murder because they didn't intend to kill the children...Whatever you might say about Philpott the children were well cared for, clean, well fed, no signs of abuse and they attended school regulaly...They were well looked after.
I do agree though that Philpott is a scrote of the first degree and deserves to be locked up for a very long time and he should have his bits cut off so he is not responsible for breeding any more children.
I also hope that his mate, Paul Mosley. is also locked away for a very long time as well...I have a little bit of sympathy for Mairead though, I think she is, to a certain extent, a victim of this monster as well and I think the judge should show a bit of leniency to her.
The media also have a lesson to learn in this as well.....This is what happens when you make celebrities out of scumbags.

Re: Vile product of Welfare UK
Mairead is a compulsive liar. She tried to influence her case by making allegations that her father had mistreated her, something which was later found to be untrue. However I agree she is not as culpable as Mick Philpott who was the driving force.
As in all of these situations the ones I feel really sorry for are those members of the family who were not involved in any way except by association. What does Lisa Willis tell her children? How will they cope with their father being a convicted killer? How do the families of the Philpotts and Mosley cope in their neighbourhoods as relatives of these three? The problems for them don't end today. It's a sad situation all round.

A victim, hardly .. for me she was most probably the driving force to feed his various fantasies.paultheeagle wrote:...I have a little bit of sympathy for Mairead though, I think she is, to a certain extent, a victim of this monster as well and I think the judge should show a bit of leniency to her ...

Re: Vile product of Welfare UK
Paul
Philpott had nothing to do with the bringing up of the children, they never went near him, the women brought the children up.
Any money that went into the home went to him, and according to his wife's sister, they were not well fed.
Whether he intended to kill the children or not, the children would have still woken up to face a fire and all the toxics and thick black smoke that would have produced. He gave no thought whatsoever to the children, he only wanted the other 5, so he could still claim the benefits.
She in my view is as guilty as him.

In cases such as this the handcuffs should be removed and replaced with a suitable length of rope just in case the bast**ds should wish to do the honourable thing.

Re: Vile product of Welfare UK
Del.....The way I understand it is that there were no signs of the children being maltreated in any way shape or form..Otherwise the Social Services may have picked up their parents unusual living conditions.
I did say I had a tad of sympathy for Mairead, she deserves to be punished and I hope she spends a long time in jail, just not as long as Philpott......Philpott is a bully, he controlled everything that went on in all their lives and I believe that Mairead was one of his victims. She ain't a 'full shilling' either is she....Phillpott took advantage of her....She should of course got out of there and taken the children with her...But maybe she was scared.
ObF...I agree entirely about the family..especially her Dad.

Hi Delboy,
I think you have a clear and concise view of this matter - and I have to agree with you. It is nonetheless a complete and utter tragedy; but I sincerely hope that none of the guilty three have lenient sentences.

I have to agree with everything you all have said. Mairead surely isn't the full shilling, but she must know the difference between right and wrong, what about the third party in all this, how did he get drawn in, all these people are amoral, without a caring bone in their bodies. They deserve nothing less than than life imprisonment, no parole. The other prisoners will soon sort them out, they don't like child cruelty in any form. They should have a horrific time in jail, I very much hope. Jay
