Lockdown and the weighing scales

Unread post by Stephen »

So how is the weight going in these current times.

Pounds on, pounds off, staying the same or too frightened to get on the scales. :)

Me: A couple of pounds on.

I had been trying to lose about 7lbs prior to our April cruise, sadly I am still trying and failing.

Weight not too bad at the moment. Didn't weigh this morning as last night was our 'jet set life' Saturday treat - a bottle of Brancott Estate wine and a big bag of cheese and chive crisps between us. We really know how to live it up. I usually let my weight vary by a small amount, 2lbs, then I try to get a grip and lose those 2lb. I lost quite a few pounds a few years back and I know how long it took me to lose those so I don't want to put those pounds back on, lockdown or not. I just have to leave the Magnums and Dark Mint Kit Kats alone for a while.

I got down to 11 stone 7lbs from 13 stone 10lbs 5 years ago but am now averaging 12 stone 10 lbs…. Eating habits haven’t changed so my weight has remained stable since lock-down.

I fluctuate between +&- a pound or two but in reality I could do with losing allot more. I normally give it a good go at reducing the pounds when there's a cruise on the horizon. But we haven't one until July next year so I'll have to try and keep myself in check. The problem is my weakness is cheese and nibbles.

Just had some humus dip, Doreto's, veg sticks and a beer. .......I think I'm doing rather well :D

Just speaking to my neighbour and she said the corona virus is shrinking her clothes :lolno: My darling son sent me a parcel last week containing three giant boxes of sweets - I’ve just put them upstairs out of reach - too tempting

Oh Jan what a lovely thought.

Me I thought I would have put some on but no I have lost 4 pounds.
Actually our son last year decided he was overweight ( true) and he lost over 3 stone in about 6 months. So far he has kept it off.

I was well on target to lose half a stone despite being confined to barracks. However I overdid the exercising and had a bad back. I thought the exercise of mowing the lawn might ease it. It did not!!! I have now pulled a muscle and am totally immobile.

Absolutely Mob as you above all know better than most ;) ……I was thinking more along the lines of the sugar content giving Foxy a boost…”the paracetamol was the placebo”

They work best if you just suck the chocolate off.

Paracetamol are my go to tablet of choice for all types of cold or flu. Last Thursday evening I had the shivers and felt awful. 2 paracetamol doses later, and a good nights sleep and I was as fit as a fiddle.

Well if you follow the logic of the Facebook generation you've clearly now had and survived Covid so you can go clubbing again. :sarcasm:

Think long term Ken…I started letting my wife cut my hair last year and I’ve saved pounds…around £80 to be precise…that's what I call a ‘fringe’ benefit

If Ken has had to go out and buy a new hat because of the way Julie has cut his hair there’s no way he’ll be keeping up appearances …well not for a couple of weeks at least  …. Julie should have gone to spec-savers.. just saying!
