The Great British Class System

Unread post by paultheeagle »

Apparently the Class system has change...No more more Upper Class, Middle Class or Working Class....It's a lot more complcated than that...There are now seven social Classes

Elite
Established middle class
Technical middle class
New affluent workers
Traditional working class
Emergent service workers
Precariat

What Class are you?....see here.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22000973

I am the lowest Class Precariat (charming), well according to the calculator.....Actually being a Palace fan, then there is only one class I can belong to......Elite :D

Not the slightest bit interested.

Respect, honesty, and generosity are classless

Hmmm, yes well I did the test - couldn't believe the result, so did it again and had it checked - and got the same result!

Oh well - it is not my fault.

Anyway, does it really matter - judging a book by it's cover or title can be a road to foolishness.

Em :D

Hi PTE

No surprises in this household... I’m two levels below my wife...She being technical middle class, whereas I’ve just about squeezed into traditional working class...

Regards

Never mind, I've just ad me fish n chips and am off now to feed the ferrets and close the pigeon loft.

I think there's something wrong with the survey, I've come out as elite.

I think it's because I like going to museums and stately homes!

My Labour voting, union member dad is probably turning in his grave!

We came out as Elite too, though I think the short test was a pretty crude judge of anything. I doubt anyone actually believes these things.

I didn't even look at it but one would politely enquire if there is a question along the lines of ...

Q37) Are you, or do you happen to know, a Muppet who uses Twitter ?

Apparently i am a new affluent worker - not sure where the word 'affluent' comes from - must be a code for the income tax we pay.

I am not into classification by box-ticking.
Everybody is who they are and, for the most, should take pride in that.

Definitely agree with you on that Ken - found the questionnaire quite bizarre - never mind it keeps someone in a job.
