Nice send off
One of our village gentlemen passed away a couple of weeks ago and due to covid restriction those who would have attended his funeral decided to do the next best thing…..we all donned on respectful dress attire (first time my suit has had an airing for at least two years) and then formed social distancing spacing both sides of our village road. There must have been 20 or so and in the absence of not being able to attend his funeral I thought it made for a lovely send off for him and his family.

Re: Nice send off
The nice sunny afternoon helped Stephen…..he didn’t die of Covid but I said to our neighbours that if Covid gets me then I would like the same send-off…with a request that they all wear Caribbean shirts with an ice cream in their hands…the way to go.

Re: Nice send off
It’s increasingly becoming the norm in some local towns around here to stand at the roadside as the funeral cars pass but several weeks ago on my return from shopping I drove through a village and all along the main road people were standing - 2 meters apart - and I couldn’t understand why and in fact silly as it seems I felt as if I was intruding - I later discovered they were all waiting to pay respect to a lady well known in the village as she was being taken to the cemetery. Again not a Covid related death.
