Quick Update ....

The battery, plus car, were driven away on Sunday evening and the Master Plan is to return both this evening with a nicely topped up old battery else a brand new replacement. Who pays is yet to be revealed ....

My guess is that it will be me :relaxed:

Taking my wife's car for its mot this morning and l'll be surprised if it fails as she has only done 3k miles this past year. Last year l took my car in and it failed due to a worn brake disc/seized caliper........when l got it back there was a rattle from the same area.......It turned out that l needed a new shock absorber...The total came to just under £550 :o ......no wonder the garage owner always has a smile on his face.

The car was returned as promised but with a brand new replacement battery.

The Garage owner is holding back on one's ' Invoice ' pending his attempts to convince his supplier / manufacturer of their responsibilities so we will have to wait and see what happens next. He also advised that there were many others with the same issues which, to me, demonstrates that Lockdown guidelines were very well observed in rural Darzet.

So .... for the first time since the end of February Mobietta and I will be going for a joy (ous) ride

I fell into that trap at a main Toyota Dealership, getting a second opinion is a good plan.

Disc brakes can and do wear of course but skimming is an alternative to replacement and especially so if Mrs OL uses the gears rather than the brakes to slow down.

Mob.....l don't drive my wife's car that often but l had noticed that the hand brake wasn't as effective as l thought it should be....having mentioned this to my wife on my return from dropping off her car... she replied....."It was fine the last time l used it".....so do you think there would be any point in asking her whether she uses the brakes or the gears? According to my wife her car is always fine until l get in and drive it.. ....she does my head in sometimes

Just got back from a lovely drive in the Darzet countryside ... we saw a tractor pulling a muck spreader, two newly half built houses, a Scotty dog and a Bambi running across the road right in front of us.

So .... there is life outside our village after all

Just tested my car battery on a run out to specsavers to have a missing nose pad replaced on my glasses. I was rather surprised that this qualified as an emergency visit.
