Current Affairs - 2. Non Covid.

Unread post by screwy »

This would be a Non Covid related in any form Thread .Lets give folk the chance to discuss other items without reverting to the ‘ sniping ‘ seen on the current thread. If we’re not careful there is going to be a lot of people leaving the forum altogether. I understand that some have strong feelings but let’s all act like the Adults were supposed to be.Thank You.

Ps. If you still want to comment on Covid ,feel free to on the original thread.

In the news in Norfolk are the idiots who come to the coast. There are no life guards on our beaches during this time, but one idiot thought it a good idea to play in a small inflatable. With a fresh offshore, it wasn't long before he was well out to sea and our volenteer lifeboat was tasked to go out. Further up the coast 10 people including 5 children had the RNLI Hovercraft tasked to rescue them from scolt head Island, and that was after the reserve wardens had cleared the island of day trippers as the tide started to flood. They were warned the tide will cut off the island but they continued to wade through the water, plain crazy.
Don't worry, be happy

Yet another fatality in south Devon today in the sea.

Some lifeguards are unofficially working but the official word is that there is no coverage.

The young guy had driven down from Buckinghamshire.

Two others yesterday on our local news

Bizarrely, some are blaming the RNLI

Not much mention of the individual responsibility

Not quite current affairs, but still current. Am I the only one enjoying the emails coming from the various cruise lines at the minute? They often brighten up my day with little quizzes etc.

I am annoyed that I missed out when the price really dropped - but I have had a buy order in for several weeks now (the share price has not dropped low enough to trigger it though .... came tantalisingly close but then went back up). There is talk of a recession which may bring the prices back down, but hopefully would blast its way up again once the world settles down.
