The way we're playing we'll soon be joining you. Since January we have gone belly up and had it not been for our form early season we would have been down there with you. There's a chart somewhere which shows we have the worst points record since January of all in the division. Don't forget we gifted you 3 points at the King Power (true we have gifted all the bottom teams at least 3 points!!) and we have loaned you two of our star players!!

PS We don't want them back!!

Here's the chart. Impressive eh?

Sadly not true Foxy, it was in the FA Cup that we beat you, in the league you won 6-1. We would definitely prefer it had been the other way round.

Apologies towny. You are quite correct. It was in the Cup we lost to you.

Had you won those two league games against us you would have been level on points with us.

According to Watford's match report the game was settled by an unstoppable 20 yarder ... now we have to face Cardiff :silent:

I've been a bit reluctant to join in on this subject until now, for fear of tempting fate.

But can now quite happily reveal that mighty Gillingham FC are not only going up but probably going up as Champions.

This will be the first time they've won anything in my life time of watching so I'm certainly going to drink it all in.

I wasn't 100% sure about the appointment of Mad Dog Allen but he seems to have come through with the goods

Onwards and upwards, and back to the Championship the season after. UTG

Congratulations Barney and welcome to posting on the football topic. I'm really pleased you have decided to join in. After all we only have Mob, Romig, Dark Knight and PTE to take the mickey out of!!

Congratulations also to Gillingham FC. We had Mad Dog Allen for only a short time. I don't think his managerial style went down too well with some of our overpaid primadonnas though so he didn't last that long but pleased he has done well for you.

Carry on posting and keep your fingers crossed for our Aldershot friend!!

Hess is still a legend at Gills, MoB

He's still involved as Director of Football

I believe oldbluefox had another Gills favourite Peter Taylor

He went down like a lead baloon as well !!!!

Aldershot look to be in serious trouble. If they go again, it could be years getting back.

Ain't it great...now a Gillingham fan......I have mixed memories of Priestfield, If memory serves I think we lost there a couple of times in the mid 70's...Quite a big ground I think....A big open terrace that I think is seats now...

Peter Taylor....Palace invented him as a player and what a great player he was......alas he was shite as a manager but a good coach.

You lot have forgotten gfwgfw and his contribution to this corner of the forum....Mind you I ain't sure who he is supporting this week...Is is Bournemouth or is it Southampton

Role on tomorrow can't wait Home v Barnsley and it's nearly a sell out..It's one of our Family Days and kids pay only a quid....will be a busy day.

Morning all!

Yet another Saturday without a game - were due to play TEG s (Thames Estuary Galacticos also known as Sarfend!) but they are playing in Johnsons Paint Trophy tomorrow.

Our next game is Tuesday night away to Port Vale - who beat Burton last night 7 (yes seven!) - 1. Perhaps we should park our supporters coach in goal!!

Hi to the Gillingham supporter & now safe to say good luck for next season in Div 1! At least we'll have no more trips to Priestfield to be seated on the draughty away scaffolding!

Hope all you "higher league team" supporters appreciate your positions - all above Aldershot who are still rock bottom (despite, dare I mention a WIN on Easter Monday!)

We've got one of those cliqued 6-pointer games today...home vs Peterborough (who are unbeaten in 6 despite being second bottom). As we are third bottom, we really need a win...a draw will be a bad result and a loss is unthinkable....

However our destiny is in our own hands - as all our remaining games are against teams in the bottom half of the table.

We've only gone and done it !!!!!!!

A tough and tight 1-0 but we'll take that for the next three games and go up as CHAMPIONS

Mad Dog has his critics but, he's put together a side that just refuses to lie down.

Only one way defeat this season and only conceded 33 goals in total

And now you're gonna believe us ... the Gills are going up

Well done the Gills.

Don't be offended when I say I hope Huddersfield don't play you next season.

2 big points dropped today... a goal conceded from a corner to a 5'8" striker!!!!! Since when did teams not put a player on the far post at corners??? :x

URGGH !

my head !

We were due to go out to dinner with friends last night so I (personally) decided to turn it into a one man promotion celebration!

My wallet has taken an enormous hit, but worth every penny in my opinion.

So, League one next season with more local games for us. At least many League one sides bring a decent away support to come and sit on our scaffolding

Our lowest away gate this season was 26 - Accy Stanley. Our chairman bought them all pie & chips and a coffee for making the effort

Who knows who will come down. Blackburn, Wolves, Huddersfield, Wednesday ?? Brizzle are gonnas but it will be two more from about seven.

What ever. Bring it on. I honestly think this current squad will hold its own next season. Two or three quality additions is all that is needed bearing in mind that most of them have already played at that level
I believe Cody McDonald will be coming back from Coventry. He's done absolutely nothing there but was red hot for us, both times.
It's strange how a player seems to have a club he feels comfortable at, isn't it.

Romig, wasn't Anton Robinson from Huddersfield?
He did ok for us. Didn't set the world on fire but certainly good enough for our team. What I would call an efficient player.
I'd be happy to keep him next season.
