Wednesday evening I watched a bore draw where a blatant goal was missed by all seven Hawkeye cameras plus VAR resulting in an undeserved draw for Villa vs Sheffield United and then a far more entertaining game where Man City put the 10 men Gooners to the sword. I switched between SKY channels 401 and 402 trying to decide if I liked the crowd sounds or not but in any event ... one's Footy is back

Michael Oliver, the ref, now says it looked like a goal but I have to rely on Hawkeye, why? Surely if he had doubts he should have gone to VAR, I don't particularly like VAR but if its there why not check his doubts?

It was patently obvious it was a goal and well over the line. Big mistake by the ref.

For those without SKY / BT a number of the Prem games are being shown on the ' Pick ' channel ... Freeview 11

ps ... Ref Oliver implied that he's not allowed to award a goal if his magic watch doesn't send him a signal. No idea why VAR wasn't used though, there can be no excuse for that oversight unless it doesn't qualify for use in such circumstances ?

At Norwich City we are fighting to survive relegation, I will be really be pi###d off if it ends up our fate being decided on a disallowed goal that was blatantly a goal. I will say the same applies to the other teams in our position.

Dead right, I wasn't best pleased that Villa gained a point on Watford when they clearly didn't deserve to

Looks like the days of sportsmanship are dead too!!! That "goal" could keep Villa in the Prem. Not sure I would want my team to survive at the expense of others knowing full well we had taken advantage of a very dodgy goal.
This is how it should be, and there are plenty more.

Some of these footballer hairstyles are different to say the least. Never been the same since Bobby Charlton, the forerunner of the distinguished hairstyle retired.

I had a blinding night with my dream team.
Most seemed to forget that football was back on and didn’t make any changes.
I took a punt on Villa and Sheffield being a bore draw so had Sheffield keeper and two defenders with Mings of Villa as my third defender.
Cleaned up 👍

A bit like Villa, they just seemed to go through the motions ... without real passion nor dare I say quality.

Hey ho but it's still early days although their task to survive the drop is just that little bit harder now.

They fell apart in the second half. Once the first goal went in that was it. There were more holes in that defence than a lacy tablecloth. Signs don't look good for them on that display.

Hornets vs Foxes had its moments but the result was unpredictable until the final whistle, Watford could have had three points, none at all or just the one and that one I will happliy settle for

It's never been a happy hunting ground for us but in the circumstances I'm happy with the draw. I thought we had won it with that screamer from Chilwell but obviously Dawson had other ideas whilst we were stood around watching. Entertaining second half though.

I’m not going to donate but I hope the people of Plymouth get behind what I hope most will agree is a fitting tribute to this pioneer of black footballers

We have just sacked our 2nd, despite him virtually guaranteeing us Championship football next season.

I'm surprised Watford have got rid of Pearson. Look at Burnley who stood by Sean Dyke when they were relegated. He brought them straight back up and, on very little money has kept them up.
Pearson has a decent track record of getting his team out of the Championship and rebuilding. Whether he is permanent Premiership quality is debatable but having seen what he did at Leicester who, shortly after his departure managed (somehow) to win the Prem with much of the team he created. I can't say I'm that keen on the fella but I'm not sure it was a good decision at this moment in time to get rid of him, unless he has upset somebody in the boardroom. I believe there were issues at Leicester which ultimately led to his demise.
Despite Watford's unfortunate knack of nicking the points in the last minute against us it would be a pity to see them relegated. There are others I would prefer to see go down.
