What makes me laugh are drivers all on they're own wearing a face mask. Don't they know vehicles can't catch it :D
Sensible if you are a delivery driver… like the chap who delivers my medication

I'm going to do what's right for me. No doubt you will do what's right for you.

I was responding in agreement to Keith's post, just you chose only to have a little dig at me, and not Keith. I wonder why. (rhetorical question)

It sounds like life long Tory Gill might be coming over to my side of politics 😁
Lockdown officially finished the day of the eye test in the Castle.
I fully expected Johnson to be useless and he hasn’t disappointed.
I’d expect him to be ditched by the Tories by summer 2022.
There’s no way they will allow him to fight the next election.

Get Brexit Done ........ then unceremoniously dumped.
Eh?

I’m not a life long Tory.

I have no political affiliation, and since 1979 (the first time I was eligible to vote) I have voted variously Labour, Conservative or Liberal
I beg your pardon.
I thought I remembered you saying that you was a Conservative voter up to Brexit.
I thought I remembered you extolling the virtues of Rehman Chisti until Brexit.
My mistake.
Sorry 😁

I think we have lost sight of this being a chat forum and not a competition as to who can get one over on Gill…. In my capacity as a backseat moderator I would suggest that we are all entitled to our views...to this end I have seen nothing in Gill’s posts today that warrants the knocking she is getting.

Now you can have a go at me if you dare…. but leave it till after the 4.40 Ascot.

Thanks

Agree Keefy.

I think that it’s now obvious that there will be a two tier system.
Those who wish or need to continue to isolate and the others who will go pretty much back to normal.

Everyone makes their own decision on what’s best for them

From our perspective, we live in an area that has been mainly unaffected.
Hopefully that will continue.
There have been no cases in five weeks.
We can no longer live in a box.

Back to normal for us and pretty much everyone we know.

I expect that the bars and holiday parks will be open early July and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

I thought about deleting it ....

Gill, you surely realise, is perfectly capable of dealing with responses of any kind but if not then the Mods will deal with it.

ps .... the 4:40 you say, I didn't know that horses could race in the dark but hey ho 8-)

I've been mulling over Barnard Castle and whether it has made any difference. My view, apart from confirming Cummings is a bit of a devious twit, is no.

There were those who were going to go to the beach or the park and bu**er anyone else and were doing it before he hit the news. So he won't have affected them.

And there were those who were being sensible and cautious, including us and several others on here. We still are. Others say they still are. So who are those who were previously being sensible and now aren't? Anyone want to confess or point a specific finger? I'm not sure many will be daft enough to endanger their own health just to make a political point.

I could be wrong. But I know of no-one in our circle who has changed their habits because of Daft Dom.

No problem.

I had been voting conservative for a few years, and did indeed think that Rehman Chisti was a good constituency MP, and very active in the local community. However, prior to that, my vote had gone to various parties, and no doubt will again in future.

I'm one of those floating voters.

Why do you suppose that? The "armchair experts" will be all over this on the news tonight saying it is too soon/too late.

Keep wearing those face masks
Why - are you going on public transport or to a hospital?
Hi David…further to your question regarding my face mask wearing I had a problem in the house this evening which required a journey out to my local shop to pick up a battery for our mains feed smoke alarm.

Now this is just my observation but wearing a face mask seemed to send a conscience reminder to others to keep their distance which was more apparent when leaving the shop as two people very noticeably gave me space.

Whatever the scientific advice I think the wearing of masks is an excellent reminder to each other that we should all be practising social distancing.

I will continue lockdown until such time as I think it is safe to venture further afield irrespective of what Dominic Cummings did, or for that matter Stephen Kinnock, Tahir Ali, Kevan Jones or a myriad of footballers who also broke lockdown rules. It's called common sense and an upbringing of being told "If he put his hand in the fire, would you?"
Funny really how some of these old sayings taught to us as children are now ringing true eg. "Coughs and sneezes spread diseases, catch your cough in a handkerchief". Maybe had we employed some of these sayings instead of ignoring them the epidemic may not have spread as it has.
