can they make baked bean tins out of Bronze?
There is a clue in the name "tins"
I assume you could tin plate bronze, but it would be hellishly more expensive than steel, much cheaper to use Oceana instead.

Why would you describe someone who objects to the glorification of a law breaker a 'right wing extremist; or a 'right wing nutter'??
I didn't. I suggested it would alienate moderate people. I suggested right wing nutters would resort to violence. Plenty who object to glorification of law breakers are not nutters and will not turn to violence

Changing the subject back to masks, a week ago I posted that on a visit to M&S at Hedge End, in their food hall, I saw a total of about 4 or 5 people wearing masks, well yesterday I went back, same day of the week and roughly the same time in the afternoon. This time I'd say over 50% of people were wearing masks. I wore one for the first time - not been anywhere before where I had to use one. I know I didn't have to wear one as it's not mandatory until next Friday but I thought I'd better try. As I have glasses I found it very uncomfortable and kept steaming up. What a week before had been a pleasant experience, wondering round M&S and seeing the amazing selection of foodstuffs on offer - I think the Hedge End food hall is the largest one in the country, it was extended just before last Christmas - this time I found I was just getting what I knew I wanted and then thankfully got out and was able to remove the mask. The assistants were not wearing masks. I know all the evidence about wearing a mask but if the Government are trying to persuade people to go back to the High Street shops, I'm not sure that the ruling about masks in shops is going to help.

We have a pack of only 10 masks ;) but will avoid Supermarkets for the time being bar delivery / Click 'n' Collect which we will start this coming Monday. We also love M&S food but are too many miles away from a decent M&S Food Hall so will aim to opt for an Ocado delivery from time to time ... assuming they will continue to deliver to our area of course.

ps .... it seems that Ocado presently have over 1,000,000 people waiting to register with them

I wear glasses and found that my glasses steamed up a little, but it wasn’t too bad. I’ve heard that giving your glasses a polish with a dab of washing up liquid helps, so I’m going to try that next time I go out.

Unfortunately, I think masks are going to be necessary for quite a while to come, so I am endeavouring to get used to them - it’ll probably become second nature before long

Hi David…. the information was on my wife’s symptom app this morning…have you checked yours?
I’m thinking those who have signed up to the symptom’s app will be the best people to trial the new ‘potential’ vaccine as they have been submitting data which should, one would presume, help with the trials?

The point here is "help with trials" - not anyone who uses the app will be the first to get the vaccine.

If I could have read the article without it dancing about all over the place, and having to scroll past all the adverts, I might have been able to laugh with you Gill.

With an 80 majority, Johnson thought he could do what he liked.
Well, he couldn’t and now has a 79 majority.
The Intelligence Committee has always been the most unpolitical of all the Standing Committees.
Party politics has no place in this. The stakes are too high.
Failing Grayling would have been a disaster.
We should all be grateful.

Hi David….I have just clarified with my wife what she was saying this morning  …..I have misinterpreted what she was saying…she said the app was saying that those using the symptoms app were registered and if or when they were needed for trials they were probably good candidates because of data already obtained from the symptoms app.

Still good news though

So to clarify. If you app'n to have the app and you submit the required details onto the app the powers that be might app'n to look at your app and think they look good app candidates for trials via the app.

We are signed up to the App and I have had an invitation to try a vaccine in due course. I presume that is what this refers to.
