I think Moby that you are probably more likely to be seriously injured in a RTA either going to or coming from said Waitrose that contracting Covid-19 from one of their staff.

Re: Click 'n' Collect at Waitrose ?
We used Waitrose Click & Collect at Ilkley. Order was fine. Money taken from card as expected. We were given a time slot but (as we were travelling a distance) we arrived about 45 mins before hand. I parked the car and wandered across to where the click and collect was. I spoke to a member of staff and they said just to drive across to one of the bays and open the boot. I gave my name and the scheduled collection time. The shopping was brought out bagged (I think) and in In a trolley. The trolley was left adjacent to the boot opening and the member of staff withdrew. I emptied the trolley and put the trolley back. There was a table with hand sanitiser near by.

Great to discover first hand that there is no need for ID or credit cards etc, I had an email from Waitrose waiting for me this morning but sadly their Customer Services haven't got a clue how their own system is supposed to work.
In truth I am far more concerned about the potentially infected Grockles than their locally based staff but I will promise to observe the Green Cross Code and look both waysdavid63 wrote: 12 Jul 2020, 18:59I think Moby that you are probably more likely to be seriously injured in a RTA either going to or coming from said Waitrose that contracting Covid-19 from one of their staff.

I took my driving licence (old fashioned type & had my bus pass but neither were required) I may have been asked my phone number but can’t remember. It was Otley not Ilkley store, we are not from that area & I’m always confusing those two. Certainly no close contact. All very well organised.

Re: Click 'n' Collect at Waitrose ?
I would dearly love to but sadly ... I cannot
I am adding a few Favourites ( things we cannot get in Sainsbugs ) as we speak, our choice is determined by the lack of close proximity car parking so out of many there is only a small one to choose fromRanchi wrote: 13 Jul 2020, 09:05I took my driving licence (old fashioned type & had my bus pass but neither were required) I may have been asked my phone number but can’t remember. Well, have just booked a Waitrose ' Click 'n' Collect ' slot for next Monday so there's plenty of time to check out one's protective clothing ...
ps ... unbelievably I could have also booked a ' delivery slot ' for the 27th July, such a pity to have missed it

I'll be sticking with my click and collect for quite some time to come, even if normality ever returns

It, along with the visit of number 1 son at the weekend, represents our first real steps back into some sort of normality. I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous but we are really looking forward to our next ' C & C 'Gill W wrote: 20 Jul 2020, 16:56ExcellentManoverboard wrote: 20 Jul 2020, 16:36Completed one's very first Click 'n' Collect today and would say to anybody else who had any reservations ... I know exactly what you mean. I enjoy ordering online and the visit to the 'van' on Tuesday morning. One of the highlights of the week!Manoverboard wrote: 20 Jul 2020, 17:23It, along with the visit of number 1 son at the weekend, represents our first real steps back into some sort of normality.
