Sorry for the text again, am really tired didn't really sleep last night.

Vets certainly know how to charge. We had to take our cat Monty to the vet a few Sundays ago.

Same Covid19 setup as Whynd said.

I thought to myself this is going to be a £ 70-80 bill, even in normal hours. A £101 later, and that was after his 10% healthy pet club discount. We had an itemised bill emailed to us which was useful.

The consultation fee was the cheap bit @ £39. It was the meds and injections that were the main cost. Then of course there was the obligatory Arthur Daley Vodka and tonic.

But he's worth it

We also await with baited breath the arrival on Tuesday morning of the washing machine engineer.
At the start of the lockdown the machine had problems but soldiered on,but a few days ago it was obvious it wasnt heating the water.
So I checked back to British gas homecare and they had added washing machines to the list of essential visits. Our dishwasher will have to wait. When we moved into this new house all the appliances in the kitchen were included and were all Smeg a good make, but the washing machine has to be the worst one I have ever had for breakdowns.

We have an appliance issue too. Isn't this a great time for the dishwasher to spring a leak! On the plus side I now have an explanation for the damp smell in one of the kitchen cupboards. On the downside I have a dishwasher in the garage to take apart in the morning.

If your vet charges you any more then l think your pet insurance company will be thinking as l do......your Vet is a complete rip off merchant.

The good news is the hairdresser re-opened this week.

No not mine, Trish has been doing that for the past 30+ years.

No not Trish's either. She's been trimming her own during lockdown.

The dog's! So she's been for a shampoo and trim.

The little chap Barney is indeed better thank you.
The original out of hours fee was quoted as £192. We went on the Sunday of VE day weekend,and indeed VE day the Friday was a bank holiday.
On our bill which arrived yesterday it was classed as a Sat/ Sun consultation price £85.
We would have normally paid on the spot in the surgery but due to lockdown we had to wait in the car park.
No need to bother with the pet insurance as we have a £69 excess.

I just filled Trish's car with petrol. Well half filled really as it was only half empty. First time since January!

Ditto-ish but I had a £20 note going spare so swapped it for some petrol .... everyone's a winner.

I've almost forgotten where the cash machines are it's been so long!

But now the parking machines, which had been free for a while, have started to need feeding again. So I paid for the paper today with a £20 to get some change. Of course the aforementioned change went straight in the washing machine for a 90 degree wash, just in case.

The first signs were on the brick pillars at the front. Then the back where a long row of birds sat on the ' wires ', as one they descended onro the lawns and gorged themselves silly. The third ' happening ' was in the house but Mobietta spotted them coming out from under the skirting board in one corner of the hallway as ants before morphing into flyers but one's cordless Dyson soon devoured those .... N E X T !!!!

It's been windy and rainy up here which has probably blown all the ants down your way. I'm having a massive sort out of my photographs which I have been promising to do for longer than I care to remember, Trouble is half of the places I don't recognise and worse still I can't remember ever being there even though I'm on them!!!!

I am trying busy settling my elderly father back in his apartment after a week in hospotal. They actually sent him home with a cannula still in his arm.
Stand offs between private carers and social services, you couldnt make it up.
He has now been diagnosed with dementia and sits there and lets it all wash over him. Wish I could do the same.
No respite care available due to covid 19.

Was just about to settle down the garden with Mrs S for an evening tipple before dinner when flying and started appearing from nowhere. That was it, retreat in doors. Flying ants are like wasps as far as I'm concerned, good for nothing.

Our lockdown has been re-imposed, no more family get togethers, indoor or outdoor. Seems a bit harsh on Kirklees which had a lower infection rate and was reducing on the last stats issued up to 20th July, but unfortunately its our close proximity to those silly Lancastrians, who haven't been careful enough, that has probably necessitated our inclusion.
