This is doubtless racist, or will be viewed as such by the woke ones, but we don't seem to have the same problems with Judaism, Hinduism or Buddhism, or even now with Christian's that we have with Muslims.
Thinking about this I wonder if this might be due to the age of the former religions, Hinduism goes back to 3000bc, and Buddism as an offshoot started about 400bc, and Judaism is maybe older than them. However Islam is only about 1500 yrs old, and in comparison Christianity was going through the Spanish inquisition when it was 1500yrs old, and if it takes Islam as long to become civilised then maybe we have another 500 years of strife to endure.

And, of course they will continue to make money by representing these disgusting characters whilst in prison, working on their appeals processes and representing a community who know every trick in the book. I resent my taxes going to sections of society who abuse the society they live in.
I see all three vermin convicts have now appealed against "severity" of sentence and the attorney general has appealed against leniency
That should ensure the the taxpayer is going to cough up over a million to our "friends" wearing wigs

I think that's what I meant to say.............I think
Solomondogs has it spot on.
But what has Merkel done to warrant this praise?
Excuse me chipping in John but I think it was she (Merkel) who had the guts to say what many European leaders have failed to sayā€¦ā€ Multiculturism has been a complete disasterā€

Lowering the hurdle for those who were prepared to embrace the German values and culture and higher them for those who won’t for whatever reason integrate into their society…. seems a nationalistic principle that could work for all if we all started putting the countries interests above that of coercive cultures and religions imo.

But wasn't it Merkel who opened up Germany to thousands of refugees which must have made the integration problems far worse. So even if she has now seen the light, I cannot forgive her for raising the hope's of immigrants and asylum seekers, and effectively creating such a money making people trafficking industry which is ruthlessly exploiting these refugees.

Wasn’t it the case that Merkel allowed many refugees into the country under the premise that they needed more workers to fill the labour gap? Whether they got the right balance for the needs of the country I have no idea.

I think the criteria used now is that migration into the country is based on skill sets which can be adjusted to requirements.

I don’t know this for a fact but I wouldn’t mind betting that Germany has a system in place whereby all refuges and migrants are required to learn the language and adopt its values… more so than what happens in the UK…Merkel is right about multiculturalism not working but as with all countries we now have to work with it in an attempt to find a balance that takes the whole country forward for the good of the people that live in it while not succumbing to the cultures that change it.

I would guess that Germany opened their doors to further the cause of Federalism and to prevent riots on the borders of fellow EU Countries albeit in the knowledge that many of those migrants would doubtless head for the UK. As an aside very few, if any at all, would have the skill sets to be of any value to Germany or anybody else for that matter.

Sorry Mob but what makes you think migrants won't have useful skills that can be utilised by countries such as Germany? From what I have just been reading Germany is very open to those with skills such as electricians, plumbers and construction workers.

Far too many of the economic migrants are looking for a better life style than the one they have at the moment which is due to them having no work nor skills to better themselves. In other words the majority are down and out unemployable types looking for manual labour.

If that was the situation we wouldn't have a problem with migrants, apart from the illegal ones of course.

Boris favours a points based entry system but all you the wooly liberals are up in arms about the idea ... just saying

Whatever Boris favours generally ends up in a u-turn so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one....wasn't it Boris who spent a gap year working on a sheep farm? ;)

That is for visa applications - not illegal immigrants.

I didn't say it was ...those with the right skill sets need to apply for work permits is my understanding?

But back to Merkel and her open borders approach, weren't most of those illegal immigrants who tramped their way through the length and breadth of the Balkans up to Germany?

Refugees to me are those peoples who come from a camp, say in Syria, with agreement from the destination Country, those who hitch lifts across Africa and Asia are illegals.

Covid. For those poo pooing the quarantine decision on France, at the time it was announced we were running around 1000-1200 new cases per day and they were over 4000. We're still about the same and they're now at 7000. Right decision I'd say. We may well go the same way but anything we can do to hold back the tide we need to do.
