Miserable here today - what shall I do? Gardening in the rain doesn’t appeal nor walking - I suppose I could get the ironing board out but can’t be bothered The purpose of the forum to discuss and plan and report back on our cruises has been overtaken by this epidemic and when I log on and see the topics “Current affairs” and “ Life after Brexit” I shudder. Some of us are not interested in contributing to these topics and I think I’m not alone in feeling like this - there is a noticeable absence of regular posters . I so miss reading about SueKersh’s cruises and revisiting places in my mind but it’s going to be a long time before we’ll do this again. Oh well stay safe everybody and enjoy your day whatever you do

We had a Princess cruise booked for February going from Perth ( Fremantle) to Sydney and I got an email yesterday to officially tell me it was cancelled shall admit we were going to cancel even in the unlikely event that it went. Still it was a nice dream while it lasted. Balcony,drinks,tips and Wi-Fi included

We had a cruise booked back in June that got cancelled. A lovely itinerary as well. We also have one booked for next July for our 40th anniversary which I think is going to be a non starter unless things dramatically change. Never mind, chin up and soldier on

Yes Stephen we are all in the same boat but no point in feeling sorry for myself - life goes on and my bank balance is unbelievably healthy

The app says the same for us, even though our local authority ward tells me we only had 3 confirmed cases in the last week.

The air's a bit thin down here but it's great to get away.
Everything is very much restricted but the change of scenery has been lovely and we have been able to stay away from crowds. Every day I curse those who ignored the precautions and have brought the virus back to our towns and villages. Sadly everybody suffers because of their stupidity and short term pleasure.

Contrary to popular belief, I am still in the land of the living, having dodged at least one metaphorical bullet. We will see how things go post covid (whenever that will be) but at present between my wife and myself, it would probably be a case of paying cash for the cruise, and remortgaging the house to pay for the insurance......

Good to have you back NOTSO, hope you are both well, and that you can afford the Insurance cover when Covid allows us to cruise again.
I like your Suez story, it could have been quite an extended holiday if the passage had been a few hours later.
