Karcher window cleaner

Hi
Anyone got one of these? just wonder if this window cleaner is any good for someone with a bad upper limb just now. Are they heavy or light, and easy to use?

I know of two others on here who have them

I have one and find it very good. I would suggest you go along to a DIY and pick one up to see if you find them heavy. I don't, but I haven't got your problem. They are though, a bit awkward until you get used to them. If you can hold one without difficulty, I would say yes.

A very good friend of mine suggested that I only purchase the machine itself and not to bother with the squeegy (sp?) attachment. I use a kitchen type sponge (with a drop or two of washing up liquid) in the water and apply that way. Then use the machine to take it off. Simples

Purchased one today, used our 10% B&Q discount card.

Even although my wife tried it out (promoting them in B&Q today) I have been round and cleaned the windows and mirrors today, wife very happy with the results. It certainly reduced the time it used to take to clean the windows, with a normal window cleaning kit as used by window cleaners.

The unit is extremely light and easy to use, spray the solution on the window, then use the Karcher to remove it, you have stubborn stains, like bird mess , use a pad or cloth to loosen the dirt after spraying.

As has been said, washing up liquid and water could be used instead of the Karcher liquid.

We bought one of these last year for clearing condensation from the windows in winter, and also for extracting water from the walls in the shower cubicles. It comes with a 280 mm suction head and we also purchased the smaller 170 mm suction head attachment for getting into narrow spaces in the shower. This is one of the best gadgets we have bought and it is very light.

Absolutely wonderful, I've had one for about 12 months and it really is a pleasure to clean windows ( did I really say that

) so quick and easy, very light and easy to use.

Just a couple of points if you have any small top opening windows purchase one of the smaller blades as well,the standard blade is a bit cumbersome on smaller windows, practice will make perfect but you might find initially that the charge doesn't last long because you are trying to be too precise but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.

Hi all Karcher fans

I am the friend Jean spoke of and I thoroughly recommend the Window Cleaner. It takes longer to put the washing up liquid-ed sponge over the window than it does to clean it off with the gadget. It is not heavy to use. Do not buy the squeezy sponge they sell with the gadget, it falls off when in use!!!

This is definitely the best gadget we have purchased, the second best is a Bosch cordless hedge cutter another excellent gadget. I digress.

Buy it! If you get it from B & Q, you can of course return it, if you find it doesn't fit your hopes and dreams

Only one Karcher window cleaner I think MOB, the other models are just the same one with lots of odds sods added which IMO are not necessary.

Great item I use it for all sorts shower tiles,kitchen tiles sliding doors mirrors even on some spills on the wooden floor saves getting steamer out

The one we have purchased is the WV50.

We did not buy the spray bottle or pad, I used an old Gillit Bang spray bottle, and I have window cleaners roller pad, I used to loosen the dirt. I found on the inside windows and mirrors, I did not need the pad, just sprayed on the solution, and vacuumed it off.

Boris, yes it does collect all the drips, providing you allow the Karcher to vacuum the window, by not pulling it too fast over the window.

Have not tried it in the bathroom on the tiles, or shower cubicle yet.

As one person said to me ... if they are so good why do you not see professional window cleaners using them ... which I suppose is a good question.

I borrowed one from a neighbour a few weeks back and noticed a couple of things.
It was nice not having to carry a bucket around with me ... but you still needed the cloths and for dirty windows you still needed something to clean them with properly.
After 3-4 windows you really start to feel the weight of the gadget.
It was no better or worse at leaving streaks than my usual blade.

She is perfectly happy it seems to do the inside ones in her own time honoured way and the outside ones are done by the window cleaner ... who out of interest also washes down the frames
