Don’t mention bed. I’m currently sitting next to one in hospital waiting for investigative left hip surgery (TFL). First on the list the consultant said the other day, the lying bas....d. Apparently he’s warming up doing a couple of hip replacements first, so I’m now possibly lunch time or early afternoon.

Dying of thirst and could murder a bacon sarny.

You need to watch Hospital, on the Beeb at present, all the doctors checking on emergency admissions and theatre slots every morning to see if their planned electives can go ahead or not. So they need you there in order to grab any opportunity that presents itself.
