In the event of no agreement, does anyone really think that Eu fishermen would trespass into U.K. territorial waters?
Deal or no deal (that could be a good name for a TV programme!) the French fishermen will carry on doing what they have always done - ignored everything and done as they please.

They (like a few on this forum) are still arguing the referendum in 2016.
It’s done.
We’ve left.
Nobody on this forum is still arguing the result of the referendum. You are imagining that.

We’ve left.

You should all be happy about this, but you are still moaning like it was 2016
I imagine that the leave group on this forum would be laid back and silent if it wasn't for the continual poking and prodding from the discontented remain element.
If you stop moaning, I'll stop telling you that you are moaning.

It's as simple as that !

I reckon Johnson is just going to Brussels tonight to tell the President that she’s dumped .
It’s bad form to do it by text so he’s telling her face to face 👍.
Plus they do a good spread, apparently 😂

Gill, I think if you look back at my posts, they have generally been replies to one of the remainers, or to react to something relevant in the media. I can honestly say that since the referendum I have had no reservations at all about leaving the EU, I would prefer that we leave with a trade deal, but if the govt cannot get the EU to accept our red lines, then I am prepared for leaving without a deal, so I have idea why you accuse me of moaning.

The ‘you’ was the ‘leave group on this forum’. Most of the time, it’s one long group whinge.

I have no idea who Gill thinks is whinging among the leavers, yes we react to remain posters who keep carping on about, "no one voted to be poorer" and "oven ready deals" and "£350million per day for the NHS" and "misleading brexit promises", but that seems to indicate its the remainers who are doing the moaning.

IMO the only moaning as it’s been put, by leavers is the fact that the Eu still don’t get it that the UK is now a Sovereign state.! But they still want us to run by their rules.

I can’t think of a single post that I’ve made that could be considered a whinge

I have pointed out on numerous occasions that both sides have underestimated the stance of the other.

I fully understand the Eu view of wanting continued control over the U.K.. Why wouldn’t they? They are terrified that Brexit will be a success.
The myth of no access to the Eu market place is constantly rolled out but the truth is that the U.K. will continue to have access to the Eu market, just not tariff and quota free.
The same applies the other way.
Mercedes still have full access to the very lucrative U.K. market but each car will cost the U.K. consumer 10% more with the tariff going to the Treasury.
So, the car buyers then have a choice to make.

Similarly with European travel.
The Eu can make it as difficult as they want but of course the risk is that U.K. travellers decide to holiday in non Eu countries or stay in the U.K..

Lost in all of this is the country of Ireland for which no agreement would actually be an absolute disaster.
Had Varadkar acted as an honest broker instead of strutting around the world stage like a preening poppingjay, the outcome would have been solved by now.
He massively miscalculated the U.K. position.

I’m pretty sure that the Eu have now realised that Johnson is miles away from the obviously desperate May.

Maybe compromise can be found but it looks unlikely as it stands today.

Interestingly, there has not been a single person on tv or radio from the remainers camp who has said that they would concede fishing, future governance and the alleged level playing field to get an agreement now.
All they can say is that they didn’t want Brexit.

Honestly, most of your posts include loads of moans and whinges. Even that post above has a massive moan about Varadkar

Do a search of posts.

For example you’ll find that the ‘no one voted to be poorer’ thing was last mentioned by you...... this time last year.

There have been conversations about most of those things over the months and years, but I don’t see Remainers banging on every single day about them. Yet, every single day I look on this forum there are moans about something or other from people who should be happy.

It’s not a moan Gill, it’s an observation.

He massively miscalculated and it cost him his job as PM.

Martin is far more realistic about the impact on his country.
Remember, they have to cross our garden to get to their front door.

To me, it has now become obvious that despite the rhetoric, the Eu side is as cool with no agreement as many in the U.K. are.
A clean break and a bit of time for reflection is probably best for all.

One person’s observation is another persons moan. It’s just how your posts look when I see them.

However, I do agree with the last part of your post.

It’s got to the point where the only way forward is to reach rock bottom, and then see how everyone feels after 2 or 3 months.

Out of interest Gill, as someone who didn’t want Brexit, would you now concede on fishing rights, future governance and level playing field in order to secure a trade agreement ?

If I did then it would most certainly have been to point out that if the expectation that the economy would be weaker outside the EU was correct, then I did consider that worthwhile if it resulted in the UK leaving EU.

No doubt this will be misconstrued as a moan................

Unless they come up with something new and different it's becoming more likely that we will leave without a deal. Unfortunately the EU will not accept they can no longer control us and we have a right to determine who fishes in our waters.
Mrs van der Leyen has a meeting today with European leaders which I expect will be interesting. I doubt Mrs Merkel will be keen to see her car industries hit.
It would be better for both sides to have a deal but if not then leaving without a deal it will have to be. But we will no longer be controlled by Brussels and the French will have no rights to fish in our waters.

Moan over!!!!
