Uncomfortable Merv, and a bu99er trying to get comfortable in bed at night. Thanks for asking.
But not as uncomfortable as my back side. Had a bad bout of constipation due to the anaesthetic which ripped my ar*e to shreds, or at least it feels like it when I’m on the loo. Just got to let things take there course.

The industrial grade pain killers I was on after my op have much the same effect.

They sent me home with Co-codamol pain relief tablets. I won’t touch them with a barge pole as they make thing worse.

They did the same to me earlier this year when I had 2 cracked ribs, but the Doc prescribed Laxido, very effective without any harsh symptoms, and allowed the high strength co-codamol to keep me reasonably pain free.

Hi Jan. I always get up around this time in the week. Unless I’m on my death bead with man flu then I’m not one for laying around in bed.

Still stiff and uncomfortable around the hip but getting a little better day by day. The annoying thing and what wakes me every night is I normally sleep on my left side but that is the side I had the op on. So it’s on my back or on my right side.

The doc prescribed me a box load of Laxido yesterday John but reluctant to take it as it’s the same stuff that clears you out for an endoscopy. And I know from experience how affective that is.

Normal service is resuming, just uncomfortable, if you know what I mean, so I’ll try and avoid any more meds for now and let the body sort itself out knowing that if things do relapse I have meds to sort it out.

I hate taking medication and will avoid it if I can.

Fresh apricots, ideally in a Tagine recipe, are also good in such circumstances

A curry could have a reverse effect .... fruit or possibly baked beans is deffo worth a try.

ps ... never tried ice with a curry, any good is it ?

I found laxido was fairly mild so it might be worth giving it another trial.

Anyone need a pair of crutches, used once.
I was given them in hospital to bring home. I asked where I returned them once finished with and was told they can't take them back. Absolutely scandalous that these items cannot be cleaned and re-used, and the physio bod agreed. Think of the amount they must hand out on a daily basis at £30 a time. Such a waste.

Stephen, if you have a Red Cross depot near you try them. The one near us use to take that sort of equipment in then loan out to anyone in need.

It probably against H&S rules to expose someone to your germs.........just saying.
