I don't fancy having the Russian jab and due to food deliveries we cannot possibly make Tuesdays or Fridays nor am I going to drive the icy drover roads to Dorchester nor are we going into a Hospital to have it but overall I think we are very flexible.

And what about the footie on a Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Thursday?

As you are not doing anything on Christmas Day - would that be OK for you? Just name your time.

Cannot possibly make it on Christmas Day and the Hornets are ' Live ' on SKY on Boxing Day, then of course Sundays are a day of rest. Oh dear, it's all proving to be rather inconvenient

If it's on Facebook then it must be true.

A number of people turned up at the James Paget hospital Gorleston l asking for a coronavirus vaccination claiming they had seen a post on Facebook which said they could simply turn up and get the jab.

The incident has led the hospital to remind the public that vaccinations are by invite and appointment only.

As and when you are called for your vaccine, if it is like the setup where we live it should be be very well organised. Marshall’s will show you where to park and where to go once inside the building. Once you have had your vaccine you will then go to a separate (recovery) area where you will be monitored for exactly fifteen minutes in case you have a reaction to the vaccine and to keep the flow of patients moving. All being well you will be allowed to leave after fifteen minutes with the required information sheets.

Mrs S covered the recovery role as a volunteer. She reckoned on her four hour shift she saw approx 200 people go through the recovery area with not one having a reaction to the vaccine.

The same rules apply to your second vaccine dose 21days later.

Hopefully once systems have been set up the number of vaccinations will rise appreciably. Thank you to the likes of Mrs S giving their time to help speed the process up. 🖒

Is she the one who eyes up the blokes coming in and says "just a small prick scratch"?

That's the one. She hasn't quite got it that you have to monitor their head for a reaction not their trousers :D

Re: Vaccine reaction

Just so you are all prepared... My 96-year-old Mum didn't have a good experience with her first Covid jab on Dec 18. She felt generally pretty unwell two days later and there was significant redness and swelling around the site of the jab. The leaflet she was given did warn of this reaction and it is starting to subside. She feels well again but not looking forward to the next dose. We'll obviously report the reaction and I'm hoping it won't be so bad next time as I believe part two is half the first dose. Just hope it works!

There will always be some that will have a reaction anneed, the same as having the flu jab.

Mrs S had what felt like the usual flu like jab reaction of a sore and aching arm for several days after her vaccine jab.

At the end of the day it's your choice. Put up with a bit of discomfort and possibly feeling unwell for a few days or don't have the vaccine and run the risk of contracting a strain of Covid. I know which I would prefer.

Hopefully you mum will have a better experience with the second dose

Thank you Stephen. I have been worried but hopefully the swelling will clear up soon. She says it's very itchy which I hope is a good sign! As you say, catching Covid would be a lot worse.

Mrs S said her arm was itchy and a bit bruised, so normal.
