No I can’t understand Italian Stephen so need them but I love the Italian accent so still have the sound playing too

Been watching Inspector Montalbano. Easy watch and good story lines if you like subtitles or speak Italian.

Oh Ray - Salvo Montalbano is my absolute favourite - I have watched all the series including the Young Montabano which I loved too. I love the characters and the story lines are great - downside is the sub-titles but I can put up with that. My friend who is Welsh Italian as she says has read the books which they are based on but they are not in English so no use to me.

Jan, all of Andrea Camilleri’s books about Inspector Montalbano are available in English. Just reading ‘The Safety Net’.

Started to watch it, but like you thought it was a load of rubbish. In fact tv in general for Christmas is very poor with the same old stuff being churned out. The downside of getting old I guess.
Having said that, I part watched and have recorded the second episode of ‘Operation Snow Tiger’ on BBC2 this morning. Anything to do with big cats always gets my vote

I watched The Red Shoes last night - the ballet version and it was absolutely magical and this is coming from someone who has resisted watching ballet for years. I was supposed to see the ballet performing in Cardiff earlier this year but it was cancelled and truthfully I was a little bit relieved However I take it all back - its on iplayer now if anyone is interested.

I recorded a few programmes over the past week which we watched yesterday - Christmas on the North Yorks Railway, Yorkshire Vet and we also watched the David Attenborough programmes. There was little else worth watching.
We did watch Christmas Strictly which was a look back over past contestants. Even though they didn't win it they were superb. I'm afraid plodding Bill is not in the same league.

I found it and two more, all downloadable. Failing that North York Moors is on BBC2 at 07:40 on Friday morning, the other one is about the Fens
