I was going to say don't buy one for Mobietta's birthday as my OH bought me a vacuum cleaner for Christmas once and I was not pleased. But Mobietta doesn't want a window cleaner anyway , so I suggest you buy one and promise to clean the windows yourself and I guarantee she will be converted and you will be fighting to use this Marvellous device on all things glass, tiles etc. Jay

We do our own windows. Window cleaners around these parts seem to think all windows are round and our windows get cleaned only when they are dirty rather than when the window cleaner comes.
Pre Karcher I always had a problem with streaks, only shown up when the sun shone directly on the windows and no matter how much I washed the chamois leather out we still got them. Now I can do the windows in half the time leaving the glass streak free. I doubt that window cleaners would find any use for them as they would need recharging facilities - and they're no good on round windows!

She had a fridge for her 21st Jay so knows what to expect by now, I have also learnt how to do jobs like cleaning windows and washing up etc that are not quite up to her high standard

Mobietta doesn't want one

She is perfectly happy it seems to do the inside ones in her own time honoured way and the outside ones are done by the window cleaner ... who out of interest also washes down the frames

But Woolfie, when you add the cost of the window cleaner, plus the wages of the lady who does, you would have paid for the gadget in just a few weeks.

What you then have to do is find somebody to use the gadget and clean them FOC, in this home, that person is me.

Unlike a window cleaner it also does the corners.

I have always done my own windows, when they needed cleaning rather than when the window cleaner comes. I used to use a squeegee and chamois leather which made a good job but strong sunlight used to play havoc. Now we have the Karcher I can have the windows done in half the time with half the mess and no streaks. I use a chamois just to finish off the edges.

There will come a time, no doubt, when I can no longer do my own windows but until then I am grateful for the help any gadgets can give and the machine virtually pays for itself in no time at all.

It's also good for sucking up any bits of condensation on frosty, winter mornings.

Is that so ... Mobietta could become interested now as she simply hates wiping the condensation off the bedroom windows on those frosty mornings even in spite of my assurances that she's doing a fine job

Further research suggests that battery life between charges is a problem for those with larger houses. I suppose this will mean that it would not be suitable for the majority of cruisers.

I can normally do my windows with one charge now I'm used to using it, I have a problem doing the conservatory without recharging as it has 14 windows, a double and a single door but I'm usually ready for a coffee break by the time I've done half of it so it is never a problem waiting for it to recharge which doesn't take long.

I have just ordered one from Amazon with free delivery, it says it cleans 45 windows before it requires re-charging.
My lady that does, doesn't do windows!
Can't wait to try it out - thanks everyone.

It does state that Serendipity but there is no way you would do 45 normal size windows with one charge, you do get quicker with practice though and get more done with one charge, I'm sure you will be delighted with it, they really are the best thing since sliced bread !!

Mobietta wants one but ideally for the winter re condensation so she has decided that a new pair of lawn edgeing cutters, or some such woman's tool, would suit her tasks much better right now
