Within a month of us formally leaving the EU their true colours emerge, covering their incompetent bureaucracy with bully boy tactics and overriding part of the Brexit deal with respect to Northern Ireland. And trying to make it our fault. Unbelievable even in the history of the EU.

Not only that but was it not the EU that made the Ireland issue central to the Brexit agreement?

With current stocks getting low it looks like I can kiss goodbye to get the vaccine anytime soon.

I see the EU have been throwing their toys out their pram.
Could not organise anything.
Ursula is definitely out of her depth.

They are a shambles.
I was reading last week that they are still waiting on the ventilators that our government was vilified by the Euro Nutters for not joining.

Why are the EU acting like toddlers arguing over who gets to play with the best toys? If they genuinely believe that AstraZeneca is breaking a contractual arrangement why are they not just taking them to court and allowing the judiciary to decide; presumably because they know they have a week case.

The UK is applying to join the Asia-Pacific Trade Pact, can't do that if you're in the EU

I guess that some EU civil servant who decided that invoking article 16 would be a good idea will be looking for a new job after the climbdown by the EU

It sounds very much like the Common Market we joined about 40 years ago even though we already have trade deals with 7 of the 11 countries . However it is the potential of other countries like the US joining which makes it appealing for UK moving forward.

It’s only to be expected when the President is a failed German Defence Minister elected to the role by the unelected Commission.
It’s like putting Chris Grayling in charge.
A cornucopia of incompetence.

I wonder how it’s gone down in Ireland.
The PM was on Marr this morning toeing the political line. It smacked of bulls**t .
The people of NI must be concerned that the Eu could impose a border so quickly and with no consultation.
They are a bunch of unelected cowboys.
We’re very lucky to have been sensible enough to get out.

My theory on the EU vaccine debacle.

They bullied countries into joining the deal and expected to deliver a resounding success for the glory of the wondrous commission.

But like many other things they screwed it up. They moved too slowly and missed the boat.

And they, and the pro EU leaders such as Macron, are pooing their pants in fear that anti EU factions in their own countries will seize on this in their own campaigns for Frexit or Gerxit or Itxit or whatever.

Their knee jerk response was to try to make us look the bad and incompetent guy and lean on us to prove that Brexit wasn't such a smart idea. Remember they only bully, they do not negotiate. That is their regular MO.

And it has blown up spectacularly in their faces with their response to the crisis making them look even more incompetent that their original vaccine planning.

Reports suggest that Frau Van Der Leyen's head may be on the block. Frau Merkel and M. Macron are not pleased. Even M. Barnier is sticking the knife in.

As anyone else noticed just how similar to the politbureau in Russia, the leaders of the EU appear, they run an increasingly slow unwieldy and inefficient organisation, looking more out of date each year. It is only propped up by the resilience of the Northern Europe economies, whose strength enables the EU to provide a reasonable overall economic performance. But for how much longer will the German population be prepared to wear this hair shirt as their penance for starting two 20th century world wars?

Good idea Merv!!! And instead of swanning off to Strasburg once a month to stock up on fancy wines they could have a charabanc up to Newcastle for a few pints of Newcy Broon Ale and a few links of Bury Black Pudding on the way home!!!

A lady in my mother in laws care home pulled through and she’s 105 years old.
Our old girl pulled through at a mere 85.
So, good luck to the old fella.

I think if anyone deserves to beat Covid, then it's Captain Sir Tom Moore.
