Any how, changing the subject. Reported on the BBC page, today's papers, the Daily Star is reporting A crack Chinese team have developed a Anal covid test which they claim is more accurate than a swab test.

Trish has had a text from our GP and had booked her jab for next week. She's also had a letter about the national scheme. I'm her toy boy, being a couple of years younger, so I guess they're doing it in DOB order and I'll get mine later. Though hopefully not 2 years later.

As the surgery is only just over a mile from home I'm pleased we'll have them separately as it means I can drive her there and back, and vice versa, so no worries about parking (they're using the surgery car park for socially distanced queuing) or any risk of feeling not like driving immediately after. They recommend a 15 minute wait if one is driving oneself.

That new Novovax vaccine sounds really good news. The BBC are getting very excited about it.

I don't know why as it is months away from reaching anyone's arm - in fact probably most of the UK population will have been vaccinated before we see it.

That's not how I heard it. They said its on the verge of being approved. They say it's 89.3 percent effective and its effective against the new variant.

From what I have heard it has not even been submitted for approval.

From the BBC News website...................
"Both the Novavax and Janssen jabs will need to be reviewed by regulators before they can be used". Local news also said it will now start to go into production so it seems there will be some delay before it is available.
I was taught to be cautious

Dad at 93 has turned down the offer of going to the surgery for his jab. So may have missed out will have to wait and see.
Mum 91 and in a care home ,well apparently they should have all been done last week but it was postponed no new date as yet.

Just been jabbed - in tier 5 as a 68 yr old but was at our doctors surgery for a routine Diabetes check when the practice nurse got back from visiting house bound patients, she had a dose left over and didn't want to waste it , so I've been done early
