You could get a cage type trap, foolproof and the birds wont go anywhere near it. Downside is that you now have a live rat in a cage to get rid of
That’s an option I will consider if my poisoned cheese bares no results…I’ll have no problem dispatching it.

No problem, just dunk it in water. End of problem.
Maybe in sea water but I thought that rats could swim ?
Not if you dunk it all the way in.

Have you tried raw onion? Apparently they don't like the smell.

It can't be a French rat because due to covid they can't travel.

You don't need the cheese or bread but a few slices of raw onion will get rid of any rat.

Hi Bensham,

I’m going to see if my poisoned cheese works before using my wife's prize onions, I will however give it a go before forking out for Mobs rat trap. The nature spy gets a sighting every night so give it a couple of nights and I’ll know whether or not it has taken the bait. I will put some onions on the next shopping list….thanks

Its days are numbered for sure.

Just checked my poisoned cheese snacks and they’ve all gone.

I’ve got two traps set under a large flower pot but the now rancid bacon hasn’t tempted ratty…I’ll put a Marathon Bar on next week’s shopping order as a fall-back.

Yep, giving Mrs rat one no doubt. Get ready for the family in a couple of weeks Onelife. And it won't be long before they start reproduction, this could run for a while yet.

Since no one seems to have seen any of your choccies whether real or virtual, then any detraction is purely hypothetical.
