The sun is shining but it's very cold with ice on some of the shaded back roads .... in darkest Darset
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Pretty much the same in the north southlands. Looks lovely but freezes the ears off. And other parts if exposed.Manoverboard wrote: 10 Feb 2021, 13:39The sun is shining but it's very cold with ice on some of the shaded back roads .... in darkest Darset

Mid morning I was wearing more thermal gear than during an Xmas Market's Cruise in Oslo, where it was -9

I might have to put a vest on tonight. Freezing is an understatement.

It was a loverly afternoon with sun and a light breeze when I took my walk.
But now the temperature has plummeted to sub zero. Keep warm everyone, lowest temperatures expected for a decade.

The temperature came up during the evening and was +0.4c this morning, next to the sea kept us warm. But there were low temps elsewhere

I’m glad it’s been quiet as I’ve been having a “nana nap”

When you say skips, do you mean hiring or taking to the tip.

Just a thought Jan, but wouldn't it have been easier to pick put any bits from your mums possessions you wanted to keep then get the house clearance man in.
Cold here too but with a glimmer of sun showing.

Someone else’s junk is someone else’s treasure.
Either way the clearance bods get paid to do just that, clear it. I expect they keep anything that’s worth a bob or two then dump the rest up some country lane..........in Dorset

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Tell me about it - yesterday we discovered she had kept biscuit tins/chocolate boxes etc. - enough to fill a couple of black bags. Gawd she was a hoarder but we really needed to go through so many papers ourselves because there was some significant stuff that a clearance company wouldn't have known was important. She had lots of really good china and glass but also a load of junk hence the trips to the tip. The main items will be cleared and disposed of by a clearance company when we are ready. There was an unopened jar of jam in the cupboard dated 2007Manoverboard wrote: 12 Feb 2021, 09:55Never met a clearamce man yet who would want 200 foil dishes, 100 jam jars, 200 tea towels, 300 empty coffee jars .... etc if my ol Mum was anything to go by![]()
