Boston Marathon

Unread post by JenniC »

Two explosions at the finish line for the Boston Marathon, a public holiday and so many spectators as well as runners from around the world... No word yet of extent of injuries and how many casualties although first reports suggest fatalities.. also no confirmation of the cause of the explosions... So sad, fun runners etc. raising money for charity worst affected as was just about 4 hours after the start.... My thoughts are with the families of those affected x

Just reading this ... what do they think this will have achieved apart from the world realising that those responsible went out of their way to target civilians .. men, woman and children ... what pathetic retarded abomination was this done in the name of?

Im feeling very uneasy this morning.
Just hoping this isnt the start of more of the same kind of thing happening.
I know the scum who did this have not been identified yet, but it is very scarey for the world in general.

I cannot get my head around the motives why anybody would wish to kill and maim innocent men, women and children who are just out for an enjoyable day out. There are some seriously sick minds out there.
I was taught to be cautious

I was watching Fox News shortly after this terrible event, they were showing footage that had come in from the scene and I don't think they had a chance to edit it ....... I saw what looked like a bloodied man, and it looked as if his legs had been blown off. It was truly shocking thing to see on television.

There are some evil sick people out there.

I have a feeling the people responsible are home grown American nutters. Patriots Day is essentially a local holiday in Massachusetts and a couple of other states, I don't think foreign terrorists would have noted it as a particularly significant day

My heart goes out to these people - and this is an event which people have to pre-qualify for. When I saw the images on the tv, I just thought of the times that we have dashed about several vantage points on a marathon course and then back to the finish line to wait for our daughter - it just doesn't bear thinking about.

I hope they catch the pertetrators, and I hope they show little mercy.

Em :(

Things have really heated up in Boston, sad to hear a security guard and policeman have now lost their lives .. don;t give a crap about the terrorist now dead. Hopefully they can take the other one alive to help explain why.

Pity this person could not have been taken alive so that the authorities could find out more information.

Ken

I understand why they search for the other suspect, all public transport has been suspended.

Absolutely dreadful ..both incidents, Boston is such a lovely City as are the people and somewhere I felt very safe.

I sincerely hope they catch the other one responsible.
