Well, I’m sure you Meghan haters were left disappointed seeing that it was plaintively obvious she was telling the truth. They are clearly well out of it and I wish them all the luck in the world.

I just hope Kate finds the courage to put her happiness above that of duty and follow in their footsteps.

P.s I’ve always found that people who keep chickens are lovely people  :D
You really do need to get out more and read the papers, there are so many holes in her account of things that if it were a ship it would sink. I have only seen the news clips but it was apparent that the poor girl is/was suffering from something like pre-natal or post-natal depression, as a consequence her account of what happened has to be viewed in that context, her illness has clearly clouded her memory as well as her judgement.
According to palace sources both Diana and Fergie suffered with the same condition

There is an interesting piece in todays Daily Wail by an American, he suggests that the interview was purely for the US audience, where he proclaims the pair are adored, and of course the nations sympathy is entirely with the Sussexes.
And the Oscar for the best actress goes to......................

I did watch the Meghan Moanalong and there were so many holes in her complaints it was like a sieve. On the one hand she said she craved for the simple life so I've sent this multi-millionairess Hollywood dweller details of a nice terraced house in Workington with a nice big garden where they an grow taties and cabbage and keep a few hens) then on the other hand complaining that security was taken away and Archie didn't get a title.
The Americans who are gullible and have no idea how the monarchy operate will be up in arms but I suspect the majority of the British public will see it for what it is. I can't wait for the next episode when her ex-husband gives his account of Life with Me Again or her father and daughters telling of their Meghan experiences.
I wish they would just move away to somewhere quiet and get on with their lives. This part of Cumbria is quiet and they'll not be bothered.
I was taught to be cautious

It also re-inforces the US way of life that the wife wears the trousers and will buck the trend to prove a point.

ps ... Diane and Fergie both had snowflake genes / were a tad unstable

It's reading the papers and the relentless assertions that flow from them that lead readers to believe the reporter is reporting the truth and not glamorized it up.
This in turn whips up false rumors among their readers like a cancer.

I have a very mixed view on it.

If it is true some of what she claimed is appalling.

However, it was a very sympathetic interview with a TV presenter who knows how to sensationalise and is a personal friend. There were no difficult questions, no challenges. no balance. At several points a defence QC would have jumped up and said "objection your honour, leading the witness." Maybe put them in the ring with Paxman and see what happens.

And there were holes. According to her the "what colour might your baby be?" question came when she was pregnant with Archie. According to him it was very early in their relationship. Neither was prepared to say who said it, denying the accused any chance to fight back and casting a poor light on the whole Royal family, and neither was prepared to give the context. They weren't even asked if they had reported it to the Queen. Surely the obvious thing to do.

Meghan seemed surprised Archie was not to be a Prince. Well that has been standard for a great grandchild of the Monarch not directly in line to the throne for many years. He will, or would have now maybe, been automatically given that title when Charles becomes King.

The worry about security for Archie was bizarre. At that point both Harry and Meghan had security cover in the UK. Were they planning to send him out much alone? Or if kidnappers had broken in would the protection officers have turned their backs saying "not our problem guv so long as they don't take Harry"? By distancing themselves from the Royal family and moving to the USA Harry and Meghan have made the security issue much worse.

Yes the papers were awful to them. But the Royal family have long experience of dealing with the press and know when it is best to keep their heads down. Harry made that situation far worse by going on the attack.

So as I say, very mixed. I think it is sad they've gone. Even sadder they've burnt their bridges. William will miss his brother's support when he become King. A managed sabbatical for 5 years while they got their children started in life would have been far better.

The bit about the colour of the baby may have been just a throwaway comment with no malice intended. But just to mention black or color seems to be a tricky path with someone just waiting for you to stray.
The color of the baby has all the daily rags up in arms insisting on a palace reply.
I hope the Palace remains tight lipped.

I notice that Megan's father is casting doubt of the authenticity of some of the comments.

Any sort of "ism" is bad and I don't think I'm guilty of any. But you're right it is very easy to fall over accidentally. I'm still not sure why "person of colour" is okay but "coloured person" isn't. Personally when I meet someone their colour is not a factor in how I feel about them. I will try to use the latest correct term, though they seem grammatically to mean exactly the same to me, with the approved form being more cumbersome, and seemingly subject to change very five years.

It is the same with every other "ism". I don't give a damn about anybody's gender or sexuality, but I do get fed up when singular people demand we refer to them by plural pronouns rather than masculine or feminine and when there suggestions non binary should trump ladies or gents when designating loos, or prisoners born male can be sent to women's prisons because that's how they feel.

The modern world is a minefield for a non discriminatory white heterosexual male!

Strange isn't is that Meghan attacks Harry's family when her own is so dysfunctional.

In this country the minority seem to rule and expect changes to their way of life to which everybody else has to be politically correct.
As we know, the latest being 'gender neutral' and the news of the plastic potato.
No problem with our ethnic friends at all, but other ways of life do take a bit of getting use to, although that doesn't mean that I approve of their ways.
I hope I haven't offended anyone but we are supposed to freely be able to express ourselves in this country. Makes you wonder

I have checked with my dogs and they are showing absolutely no hint of being offended.

Our oldest dog is gender neutral (she has shown preference for both male and females).
Our youngest is pan-sexual (she will hump any leg, cuddly toy or pretty much anything else placed in front of her).
Our young male is currently transitioning (after a visit to the vet).

Buckingham Palace has released a statement on behalf of the Queen in response to the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.
It said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

It sound like Mommy is going to give Charles a good slapping

They probably didn’t say anything. I expect their press office would have have put something together and then run it past Ma’am for approval.

I particularly like the line

" Whilst recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately"

I bet the Queen wanted to add and we will not go running to the media like what you did and get an interview on peak time telly.

I don’t know how true this is Foxy but I think someone heard Charles saying that he needed to lie low for a couple of months and was considering a nice little semi in Warrington  ;)
