Does he post on here at all?

I miss his views and discussions with him.

He is certainly a Ram not a Sheep

On balance I think the Forum is better off without him, am musing, nay, laughable at times as he could be :)

The Monocled one, is very much a Marmite man, you either love him or loathe him
He has said in the past he would not be part of a site where the mods are also posting and to his credit he has stuck to his word.
I do not think he would have lasted overly long on here , which may be part of the reason he has stayed away, PandO were very lax moderators, which was partly why MM lasted as long as he did, IMHO

gfw may well know where he is posting, as I doubt he has given up telling the world how wonderful he and his life is

He does have a point about moderators also being posters it must be extremely difficult to remain unbiased, particularly if you are friends with some of the posters.

I didn't necessarily agree with MM's views of the life and the world, I did however enjoy reading his posts. :)

Hi Chesterfieldjohn

I also miss Mr Kane but as Dark night explains Mr Kane would have struggled under any sort of censorship on this, or indeed any other site should he have wished to pursue his forthright approach to controversial topics of discussion.

I wish him well wherever he is.

Regards

OL

Met Derek on the Grand Event on Ventura - great fun, flamboyant with a certain "joie de vivre" - a purest where cruising was concerned.... I miss his posts :D

I just don't know they do it. :?
Perhaps I should have been invited to moderate as I do not have any friends.

I did hope to meet TMM - but in the end all I could do was wave at the boat (yes, not ship ..... boat/ferry) from our balcony. He was on Red Funnel whilst we were on a ship.

Anyway, where are JtD and DtM currently?

Em :)

Em,

DTM is currently cruising on the Oriana and sending excellent reports back which can be read on the Oriana cruise report section.

Ohh I always loved the comments about MM, I met him on a cruise and he was nothing like the "wind up merchant" he was on the forum ..all done for effect IMO as he knew people would bite !!  not that I am excusing him for some of the comments he made which were unacceptable.

In fairness, if we're honest, we've all posted comments that were, shall we say, inadvisable.....[/quote]
