I've got a new "toy" to play with Merv - just purchased a new lawnmower - cordless (no more cutting cables - oops) so going to try it out. Bit sad really but that's what lockdown has done to us - the little things please us these daysMervyn and Trish wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 10:05Or watching someone else gardening weather!Jan Rosser wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 09:45And the weather forecast from here is cloudy but brightening - ideal gardening weather![]()

No spare battery Stephen but not big lawns to cut - charged up pretty quickly so I'll give it a go - there's always tomorrowStephen wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 12:05Jan Rosser wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 11:14I've got a new "toy" to play with Merv - just purchased a new lawnmower - cordless (no more cutting cables - oops) so going to try it out. My piece of seaweed got it wrong. The weather here is very cloudy, no sun, but it is dry. Time for a new piece of seaweed I think.

Sounds like a good buy. We've chomped a cable or two. We can only mow 6 feet from the power socket now. And year's ago when I was still working but Trish had retired she chomped a toe too! Did you know the NHS actually refer to it as Flymo Toe? A bit unfair as ours was a Black and Decker.Jan Rosser wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 11:14I've got a new "toy" to play with Merv - just purchased a new lawnmower - cordless (no more cutting cables - oops) so going to try it out. It has the grass box at the back, so as long as you walk behind it, it's a bit difficult for it to chew up your toes.

In the height of summer I have been known to wear shorts and an old pair of sandals when cutting the grass. However this might be the last year for grass cutting, we are planning to downsize and about to put in an offer on an apartment. So our only gardening in future will be balcony plant pots.

I've been trying all morning to ring P & O. I wanted to find out how much these round UK cruises are. Can't get through on the phone can't get on the web site. I've given up.

More chance of winning the jackpot than getting any contact with P&O.
