It was Boris who bought them as London Mayor. Theresa May banned their use as Home Secretary. And Sadiq Khan flogged them for scrap.oldbluefox wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 13:52He should have kept them and used them.Kendhni wrote: 20 Mar 2021, 12:53Maybe we could recover Johnson's water cannons from the scrap heap?
Now confess. Which one of you has them stashed behind your caravan?

I think Scerwy might have a point, but I think David Cameron might challenge TM for that particular crown.

Yes, well done them. And I’m sure it will rise. The mentality of these people beggars belief.
Reading between the lines it sounds like it has been an ongoing problem in the community. What the hell were the police doing it is what I’d like to know. Bu99er all I suspect.

Here's an irony.
The best way to indicate disagreement with a bill to give police greater powers to deal with protests is apparently to stage a violent protest attacking police officers and vehicles.
Morons? Discuss. Please write on both sides of the paper.

I doubt they could manage to fill one side, never mind 2, unless they use very large letters.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 21 Mar 2021, 22:04Here's an irony.

Bristol protest: Police attacked as 'Kill the Bill' demo turns violent https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-56477887
It seems Bristol is becoming renowned for the mob to do just as they please. I wonder if it was a mistake for the police to stand back when the mob was tearing down the statue, giving them the impression that the mob rules in the city and carte blanche to do as they please. Methinks it's time for the police to take control of the situation.
Perhaps this is why the government are looking to tighten up the rules for protests bearing in mind what we have witnessed over the past year with Extinction Rebellion, BLM and ow these latest riots.

Definitely water canon needed! The police can only stop this sort of thing if they have both the man/woman power and the equipment and are backed up by Parliament. It reminded me of the Poll Tax riots, disgraceful!
