Wonder if Betty will abdicate.?

Odds OL.?
I would think it very unlikely but if you want to throw your money away, I’ll give you 10/1 against this happening…. Terms and conditions apply.
The monarchy machine will have their work cut when Charles’s takes over the reins….my preference would be that he finds himself a nice little vegetable patch and spends his final years there.

I think we saw the old chap off in style, very well done from start to finish.
He picked some lovely music, very moving.
Don't worry, be happy

Me too David - I thought she stumbled a bit after getting out of the car.

At 94 I think she’s entitled to.

After the bunfight that was Bidens inauguration this was just magnificent. We certainly do know how to do ceremony and this was no exception. Makes you proud to be British.

I didn't say she wasn't, but it is the first time I have seen it in public.

She looked very frail and almost bent over double as she got out of the car, I do hope that her grief is not going to lead to a permanent decline in her health.

Nice to see William and Harry walking together and talking after the service, which was moving and immaculately organised. I imagine those who had to carry the cofffin up the steps heaved a sigh of relief once the job was done.

The TV coverage by the BBC was, as always superb as well.

I felt quite sorry for the Queen actually. I don't see why she had to sit on her own . Surely one of the family could have sat with her.

A magnificent send off for a wonderful person RIP Phillip..

She had to sit on her own because of the Covid regulations. Her bubble now consists of herself alone and staff at Windsor who couldn’t go to the service on account of the limited numbers allowed.

I think the image of the Queen sitting alone will be one of those iconic images that reflects the anguish of so many families over the last year.

No, but I suspect a lot of the duties will be passed down a generation or so - some already have been - but she'll cherry pick the bits she wants to continue with.

At her coronation she committed to a life of service and I think she will see it through but you are right, she will delegate much more to other members of the royal family whilst still keeping her hand on the rudder.

I am more convinced than ever, that a constitutional monarchy is a far superior system to a republic.

It would be nice to see more of Princess Anne…the only one of the queens off spring to share the same qualities as her mother imo.

There are a few quiet stars in the RF team. A team in which different players bring different qualities to make the team work.

I believe that Princess Anne does more royal engagements than any other member of the royal family - just doesn't get the publicity

She doesn't seek it either  ..... there was a TV prog postponed yesterday about her daughter Tara plus her rugby player hubby which I thought could make a refreshing change from seeing the antics of the usual attention seeking royals.
