I was somewhat impressed today when I had to go to my GP's for a blood test in that not only had they had my discharge notes (actually they had those on Tuesday) but that they are able to access my hospital records to see what had been going on.

It wasn't ' connected ' for me in Dorchester NHS Hospital for the care that had been undertaken when I went private even though some of the treatment was in Poole MHS Hospital and the full detail had been supplied to my NHS Doctor

The same applied for Mobietta regarding private surgery in oop norf Manchester

We both ' enjoy ' the benefit of having the new streamlined ' Everybody with the appropriate password can see ALL our medical records ' type system but none of our Private medical history, recent or otherwise, has been included in spite of the surgery having received the info.

I had a colonoscopy on the NHS last Thursday
Appointment was kept exactly on time in a mobile unit on the hospital car park
Very efficient, painless and re-assuring. I was mildly sedated but not as much as when I had one privately six years ago
That occasion was little different except that I had to wait four hours from my appointed time for the treatment.
Isn't the Moviprep an experience to be forgotten
Next time , if there is a next time it will be NHS for me.

Had a colonoscopy this afternoon (poo sticks test flagged up a problem) - effectively it took a week!

Monday I had to go to the hospital for a Covid swab and collect the paperwork and trhe 'magic ' Moviprep.
then self isolate untilk the procedure.

Low fibre diet from Tuesday am until Weds lunchtime, then Moviprep #1 at 4 - in theory that clears the system by 10pm..... up half the night (and I'll spare you the rest of the details).
Moviprep#2 at 7 this morning. Really thought I would need the bucket too! But it stopped at 12 and was reasonably ok from then on.
Procedure at 3.30 - with light sedation. Just as well cos it was not pleasant ( tho' not as unpleasant as the Moviprep....
the camera got stuck, so they went for a paediatric one which also got stuck( a regular occurrence apparently - I was the 2nd today.
So I now have to go for a scan in a few weeks . But they think it is probably diverticular disease.

Similar here. Although I did opt for sedation as I was bricking it on the day. It was hardly worth having going by its affect. Turns out there wasn’t a problem, although the cheeky nurse carrying out the procedure said it would help to lose the belly. Bl**dy cheek . Pot calling the kettle black came to mind looking at her.

Not something I’d want go through every day, but not as bad as I thought.

"Would you recommend this to family and friends?" - answer No but I would to my worst enemy!!

Good luck Meg ... we all have a few ' diverticulii ' in our systems due to our rich spicy diets but my fingers are crossed that they can remove them in situ. Either way it sounds as though they have caught them in time.

I had my ' dye ' in a glass of orange juice at the Hospital prior to a scan ... maybe yours is the latest version.

Unless this stuff works slightly differently from Movieprep I doubt Meg will be getting much sleep those two nights. It was bad enough having to take the movieprep during the day.

And why call it Movieprep. The last thing on your mind is watching the tv once you’ve got that stuff inside you
