I suspect it's the ' mute ' button ... cos Mobietta belatedly found one of those on the bedroom TV.

If it’s anything like mine its probably the T button…It turns the tv off until my wife has bought me one.

I expect you can warm your hands as well on the valves when you turn it on and it warms up.

I did find out a few weeks ago that rather than going through settings on the tv I can just ask it to put sub-titles on and off by pressing the microphone button on the remote and telling the tv what to do. I've only used the microphone button before to search for programmes.

In 2009 Stephen Hawking hosted a party for time travellers.
He sent the invites out after the party. He said he sat there for ages and nobody turned up.

Thank you Jan that will be very useful, and its instantaneous as well, and you can turn them off the same way. Anyone know any other useful SkyQ features.Jan Rosser wrote: 15 May 2021, 11:48I did find out a few weeks ago that rather than going through settings on the tv I can just ask it to put sub-titles on and off by pressing the microphone button on the remote and telling the tv what to do. Today I learned that avocados do not ripen on the tree. This means farmers actually store the crop on the trees for several months.

Re: You learn something new every day
Saw this in the papers this am & thought of Barney. Certainly I didn’t know this before today.
‘Which station you want in the first place can depend on pronunciation. It’s Gillingham in Dorset and Gillingham in Kent. I mean that the one in Kent is pronounced like Jack and Jill.’
Presumably the Dorset one is pronounced as in the breathing organ of fish.
It’s anyone’s guess as to how the Norfolk version of the same place name is pronounced.
Are there place names near you which need local knowledge to be correctly pronounced?
Ulgham (Uffam) was a village near my birthplace.
Finzean (Fingan) and Strathaven (Strivven) are some I’ve come across.
