the media is focussing on those that have inane excuses
I am not talking about anything in the media, I am talking about real live people that I have talked to.
Accepted, I personally don't know anyone stupid to turn down the vaccine for anything other than legitimate reasons.

One could have argued if hadn't been for the selfish snowflake senior citizens we wouldn't have needed lockdown
I have to disagree - there were far less "selfish snowflake senior citizens" than there were "selfish snowflake junior citizens". I didn't see hoards of senior citizens flocking to the pubs the night before lockdown.
In my experience no group holds the moral high ground. I have seen people of all ages in pubs and restaurants when they have been opening legally. When I look at the pictures of anti-vaxers in the media this morning there seems to be a wide spectrum of age groups. In fact the only question I asked myself was 'I wonder how many of them have actually been vaccinated?'

I was talking to a couple of fellow golden oldies yesterday who had, at last, been to a pub. On the second occasion they went inside and in came the ' junior selfish snowflakes ' without observance to distancing or masks. They then presumably decided to make themselves look really tough by annoying a table of OAPs at close range. The consequence is that they are presently having COVID tests every three days to ensure their well being.

I truly doubt there are any selfish OAPS out there threatening the lives of youngsters.

We have missed the government covid updates but JVT led a Downing street briefing today.
They did say the booster jab should get us (50+, etc) through to next year based on the science, but did not have enough information as to any future boosters for next year until enough data as to the effectiveness of the booster has been studied.
Silly question time.
First question from BBC reporter, could the professor give us any information as to any future boosters for next year.

We had an update from our CMO today ... not as positive as I had hoped for.
It also appears that our back into office decision is being put off until Q2 2022.

Take extra care this year. COVID has diverted resources that would normally be analysing what goes into the flu jab giving rise to a line of thought that we don't really know which forms of flu to vaccinate against this year ... so there is probably a bit more guess work than previous years.

Ken, that is heartening to know, it will be a case of going with the flow and hope there is a bit of the good stuff in the vaccine to fight off the baddies.

I’m having my flu jab this Saturday. I would rather have something than nothing.

You must only be a spring chicken then Stephen, our pharmacy only have vaccine for 50-65 yr olds, over 65 they are still awaiting supplies to be manufactured.

Our surgery has told us to wait until they contact us both for the flu jab and the Covid booster jab for those entitled to it. They certainly ran the original Covid vaccination programme very efficiently so trust the same will happen with the flu and Covid booster.

It's a funny old system Carole.

I received a text from my GP practice inviting me to book my flu jab, yet my wife who works within the health service didn't. Instead, she went to the walk in jab service at our pharmacy after being allocated a certain day to attend.

our pharmacy offers walk in flu jabs. OH is off to the optician, next door but a dozen to the pharmacy, and says he might get his jab on the way back.

Our daughter (then age 41) who is receptionist in the Optician was invited by the pharmacy to go for a jab last year despite being underage , so no doubt will do the same this year.

waiting to hear about Covid boosters. I wonder if the booster has to be the same 'breed ' of vaccine as the initial shot?

It won't be Astra-Zeneca. Most probably Pfizer.

It doesn't have to be and at the minute there seems to be a bit of mixed information coming out. Some say it will be the same others say it won't. For a while there seemed to be some evidence that mixing vaccines increased efficacy, but then another story came out that said the impact was minimal and we should stick with the devil-we-know. I guess you just take what you are offered.
