Do you remember
Black forest gateau on the sweet trolly and the cheese board on another trolly. Not the miserly serving you get nowadays.

Re: Do you remember
Funny that Stephen posted this as we were talking to our son about some of the things we done when we were "dating" and going for a meal was special. It tended to be Prawn cocktail, Sirloin steak and Black forest Gateua
going for a Wimpy (before we met) was also mentioned
Happy days!

Re: Do you remember
What about all the flambĆ© dishes at the table like cherries jubilee/crepe suzette and baked alaska? Iāve also had pasta cooked at the table - all ābannedā when good old H&S came into being.

Re: Do you remember
When I was at university my (now) wife came to see me every weekend. She worked during the week in London and got 15 shillingsā worth of luncheon vouchers every week. Once a fortnight we would go to the local steakhouse and both have exactly that meal for 15 shillings and sixpence each.Happydays wrote: 19 Jun 2021, 08:19Funny that Stephen posted this as we were talking to our son about some of the things we done when we were "dating" and going for a meal was special.
