Good luck everybody in the new season. May you have more ups than downs.

I would like to echo OBF's sentiment except when you play the Palace. When I sincerely hope you have nothing but downs

Have you seen the score line from Old Trafford? Come on Leeds sort it out.

Either Fulham were brilliant or we were crap, more likely the latter as we conceded 2 of the goals while they had 10 men!!!
Meanwhile Danny Cowley's Pompey are joint top of league 1.

Typical Gills.
Dominate the first half, get over run in the second half and concede a very late goal- 88 minutes.
Ironically we came to life after that.
Must admit that it was a hard watch second half but great to be back at live football.
We go again Tuesday.

I wished we could have played a Grealish free Villa.

We were rubbish but then again we were playing the European Champions. The team that finishes above Chelsea will definitely win the Prem League. I know how you feel Barney despite the result it was brilliant being being back at football. Roll on next week.

What lovely pictures of the Brentford team acknowledging the attention of the little lad in the crowd. I wonder how many of the Big 6 would do that? Nice to see and well done!!!
I was pleased they got off to a good start having knocked on the door of promotion for a few years and despite having some of their best players poached by Prem teams they still managed to get there. Hopefully they will have run out of steam by the time they play us.

I watched the Brentford game and my missus has a new favourite person in Thomas Frank.
She said how wonderful it was to see the manager showing the same enthusiasm as the fans instead of leaning against a wall with their arms folded.
I don't know if Brentford will stay up, but if they don't, they will go down with all guns blazing.
Seems strange that twenty years ago, we used to buy their best players.
Times have certainly changed.

I have just noticed that there wasnt a single draw in the PL on Saturday, I wonder if that had ever happened before, and on the opening week of the season.

I think Leicester were unlucky to have Perez sent off tonight. Michael Oliver's initial reaction viewed at full speed seemed to be correct even on the full speed replays, unfortunately when viewed in slow motion it did look intentional. This is what makes VAR suspect, they should consider both full speed and slomo, and only when both show intent should the refs decision be queried.

I don't think there was any intent; he was trying to get his body between his oppo number and the ball but it was badly timed and was dangerous. As for the match we were appalling - slow in build up, easily picked off, calamitous in defence, a performance best forgotten but if we play like that next week Norwich will be laughing. They don't deserve their pay this week, should give it to charity, it was that bad. West Ham were good but we made them look better. :(

We actually played ok and got a result given that it’s virtually a new team.
New signing Carayol looked at bit above league one level but it’s still early doors.
He scored a worldie 35 yard free kick.

Either team could win tonight MoB, both will play a weakened side made up of fringe and academy players. That's what I like about the League Cup, you get to see players that don't normally play and there's always a youngster who will make his first team debut.

Just waiting for my friend to pick me up and we will be off. A bit early I know but with the traffic we'd rather get there early than late.
