From today a new anti scam service is starting - just call 159 from most phones to be put straight through to your bank (although not all banks have signed up to it yet)

I think it is a good idea. Just remember that if you have been phoned then don't just hang up and dial 159 (since scammers can hold the line open), dial it from another phone. Nationwide has its own number 08000304057
