Nazeem Zaghari Ratcliffe
No surprise that she has lost her appeal and I dare say Iran will find another trumped up charge after this one.
If our government can’t come to some negotiated deal to pay back some or all of what we owe them then when she finally does get back, I hope she sues this Government for political incarceration.

She is probably hoping that Johnson does not decide to intervene again.

Johnson is not the problem, she is purely and simply being held hostage until the govt give in to Irans demands.

That's assuming we actually owe them anything.Onelife wrote: 17 Oct 2021, 10:24No surprise that she has lost her appeal and I dare say Iran will find another trumped up charge after this one.

If the news stories are correct then we don't owe anything any more.
The £400million that the UK questionably stole from Iran was allegedly repaid by Johnson, earlier this year.

Hi Keith, apologies for the source but it is a story that combines both points

Thanks for that Ken.
If the Iran tv report is correct and Boris has dispatch 400 million then one must assume we did owe Iran this money.
We don’t know what negotiations are going on behind the scene but if Boris’s track record is anything to go by one can only hope it will have been done with cast iron reassurances that Iran will honour this payment.

Re: Nazeem Zaghari Ratcliffe
Surely, if Johnsons track record is anything to go by then he will not have read any output from the negotiations but will accept it without any due diligence and then go back on his word immediately after??
I can understand the British government publicly trying to separate the two issues ... they cannot be seen to give in to blackmail (although we know it happens) ... but the timing seems pretty clear.
