Who cares about Man United. I love it when they are struggling. They treat much smaller clubs with such contempt they deserve everything they get. They should keep Oli and have a relegation scrap.

Manu lost me in the Fergie years when they were winning. Unfortunately their philosophy seemed to be win at all costs to the extent they were unsporting and aggressive especially to the officials. They came across as thinking they had a God given right to win. That seemed to be Fergie's philosophy and it wasn't pleasant.
I don't find any club which pays over the top for their success particularly inspiring, but then I wouldn't would I!

By contrast I was mightily impressed by Brentford on Sunday. They gave us a good run for our money and the score could have gone either way. In the end they were undone by committing too many forward and leaving the back door open. However they have some half decent players and I just hope they can keep hold of them when the big boys come knocking.

I remember so well that when our eldest boy was about 6 and in the Cubs, we approached United to do a tour of their Stadium ... no problem at all Sir, that'll be £600 in advance

City did it for free and Mike Summerbee and Franee Lee escorted them

I once asked if I sent them a football with return postage paid would they get their players to sign it, the ball to be raffled to raise funds for a Service Children's School in Germany. United couldn't do it because they received so many requests.
The same request was sent to Liverpool who gladly obliged.

I seem to be in agreement with you Foxy, however I remember thinking the same when Liverpool were winning everything, whereas now I love watching them play, and look in wonder at the skills of Salah and his merry band.

Withdrawing from the FA Cup a few years ago because they were playing in some FIFA competition.

Go to Old Trafford as a visiting supporter and you'll soon see what I mean.. Stuck up in the gods, poor toilet facilities. One bar to buy a drink or overpriced burger.

Playing weaker teams in the domestic cups. I know all teams do it but Moneychester United were one of the first.

Thinking they have the right to ride rough shod over the rest of English football to join a European Super League. I know there were 5 others that did that as well and they all stink.

There are more but to be honest I can't be bothered with them.

FIFA world club competition sanctioned by the FA, lots of fuss just like your spouting,shows how much the FA Cup needs the big clubs,any other team would have done it by admission.

Stuck up in the Gods? Well I suppose when your used to Selhurst Park anything above 30 feet is a mountain.No one forces you to buy refreshments. Oops sorry forgot Fergie time,have you ever thought that without ( Fergie time ) you wouldn’t have the knowledge now of how much added time is declared.

Playing weaker teams,yes all teams do it. Yes Utd as you say were one of the first so why pick on them.? If I remember correctly Fergie played the class of 92 at Port Vale and won.It is after all a squad game.

I think you have problem with Utd because of.
You lost Two Cup finals when you were winning both.

There multiple things about Utd that I don’t like but they are a business after all and a very successful one.

I thought they were doing an economic model whereby ' one ' doesn't spend any money but gets a bucket full every couple of years for the parachute payments ... if so it's a jolly wheeze that Delia should be well pleased with.

I find it quite funny every time United go into a mini meltdown.
Every team with their spend power will have good times and some not so good times.
United seem to think that they have some kind of God given right to be at the top of the league.
What is even more amusing is that most United fans that I have known cannot believe how detested they are by most fans of other clubs.
I personally have an irrational dislike of Spurs.

I'm not keen on Spurs either. They are living on past glories and are not as good as they think they are but obviously see themselves in the elite six (if the Euro league is anything to go by).

I think your wrong Barney. United don’t believe they have a God given right but the size and wealth of the club they believe they should be at or around the top,not everyone can be.!

Intriguing why fans detest Utd,it wasn’t always the case, maybe just bitter and jealous of the 20+ year success they enjoyed.? Yes,Fergie was very annoying to say the least but it worked for him and the club. During his management he was backed by an extremely good Board with David Gill at the top, went downhill when they both left together.

Personally I can’t stand Liverpool but I admire their success and are probably the best ‘ footballing’ team at the moment. What I can’t understand is the feeling that they can’t do wrong even though they caused so much damage to English football in 85.Fans are so fickle but hey, Utd had their glory years and they will come again,just not yet.

Football now is big business not a charity so yes, folk might be disgruntled that Utd charge for tours,signing balls etc.
Utd started the ball rolling in so many other things which all the big UK clubs have followed, Club TV, Stadium tours etc.Yes again it’s all about money I know, can’t be successful without it. Like I said,there’s an awful lot of jealousy.

I’ve a mate who is a Manchester United fan all the way back from when they had Charlton Best etc.
He seriously thinks that United are every football fans second team and is quite hurt when I tell him that most people detest them.
I’m slightly biased as I don’t like the Premier League and everything it stands for.
I must confess that even though I never watch PL football, I did download MOTD 2 to watch the 5-0 humiliation
Quite enjoyable actually.
Ps- I have no love for Liverpool either

The ' Stadium Tour ' that I mentioned eaarlier was c 1974 rather than in recent years.

At that time we lived within walking distance of a number of the United players also Fergie and Hurricane Higgins, they all seemed fairly normal-ish in those days. For me Fergie was a great Manager and made United play like a well oiled team, sadly that for me is no longer the case. As a Watford supporter I was in the Stretford end when Luther Blissett scored the 2 goals that put United out of the League Cup in 1978 ... I was also in the stand at Northampton when Besty and co walloped the Cobblers 8:0

Screwy is correct when he says it's all about money.. Money buys success, Norwich can not match that, On paper it looked like we had put together a good team, but it has shown that it may not be good enough.
In the Championship over the years it's been exciting but going up does try the fans with a string of games without a win. We have a really loyal fan base, the time just a few years back when in Division one we still had full houses.
I don't think we will be winning a trophy any time soon (unless we go down) but the lads must have had a chat from the boss and we go again Saturday.
