Covid vaccine
I have been called for my booster which will be Pfizer for this Saturday.
I had the astra zenica for the first two, and had very bad side effects especially after the 2nd jab. After a few days I developed a very bad headache which would not shift. In the end my gp sent me for an emergency eye test and a brain scan both came back as normal, thank goodness.
Nobody I know friends or family had this.
I have spoken to my gp and he feels its okay to go ahead and have the pfizer booster.
So my question to this forum is has this happened to anyone else.

Re: Covid vaccine
Not had any problems with the Pfizer jab - all three have been Pfizer. Only minor issue has been soreness where the blunt needle went in.

Re: Covid vaccine
I had a Pfizer booster and whereas previously I had had no problems with AZ I felt a bit off colour for 24 hours after the booster.
However that had come within a week of having my flu jab and my hormone jab so maybe it was just a bit too much for my body to deal with.

I was taught to be cautious

All three jabs have been Pfizer - no ill effects apart from slight soreness to the upper arm which a lot of my friends experienced too.

Re: Covid vaccine
We both had flu like symptoms the day after our first AZ jab, nothing other than slight discomfort around the jab site for AZ 2, and the same with the Pfizer booster.

Re: Covid vaccine
With all 3 jabs I felt very, very tired but after a good night's sleep was fine. My booster came a week after my flu jab but I didn't feel any worse.

Re: Covid vaccine
My first two were AZ only after effects was a sore arm for a day. Booster was Pfizer with Flu jab in the other arm, didn't even feel the Pfizer jab and had no sore arms, no after effects at all. My sister-in-law and brother-in law had AZ for the first two and then last week had Moderna booster. They both had sore arms for a day after the Moderna but that's all.
I can't understand people who have had the first two jabs and then don't get the booster.

It's not that I dont want to have the third vaccine, personally I'm just worried about the side effects.

Re: Covid vaccine
Lindsey, unfortunately 6 monthly boosters may be the norm until we can stamp this thing out. On the plus side though several non-injectable alternatives are becoming available as well as better palliative treatments.Whynd1 wrote: 14 Nov 2021, 12:38It's not that I dont want to have the third vaccine, personally I'm just worried about the side effects.

Re: Covid vaccine
I think for the vast majority of people the side effects of the jab are far less serious than the potential side effects of not having it.Whynd1 wrote: 14 Nov 2021, 12:38It's not that I dont want to have the third vaccine, personally I'm just worried about the side effects.

Re: Covid vaccine
I agree with Merv but perhaps you could ask your Doctor if the Booster is, for you, a serious health risk.

Re: Covid vaccine
There has just been a briefing about the effectiveness of the booster jab which should give some reassurance…93% effective against symptomatic infections... so presumably even better against hospitalization?

Re: Covid vaccine
I have had a conversation with my gp and he has stressed as long as the booster vaccine is Pfizer I should be okay. I have rung the vaccine e center and they have confirmed that here in Swansea that is the only booster vaccine being used.
Our daughter fully jabbed had to go into her London office for 3 days, instead of working from home in Cardiff. Upshot caught covid.
I am still worried about side effects but will probably have it done. Come so far now.
