'E' Scooters.

Unread post by Ray B »

Just watched a news report film showing a Police force cutting up E Scooters. Joy of joy, they can present serious danger to pedestrians when driving at speed and also the rider who thinks everyone will get out of their way.
I did witness a copper stopping a lad and his girlfriend traveling on one of our pedestrian streets. A ticket was issued with a long talking to and then the copper confiscated the scooter.
Give me the chance and I will cut them up myself.
Don't worry, be happy

They are a danger that needs sorting. There are one or two on electric mobility scooters/wheelchais round here who need sorting too. They race through the pedestrian area at crazy apeed.

I don’t see a problem with Escooters pre se, but it’s currently unregulated, which is an issue.
It’s a brilliant green method of transport just as cycles are.
They should be registered with an ID plate, the driver should wear protective head gear, the driver should have insurance and they should only be driven in cycle lanes or on the road.
I think bicycles should also be insured and have ID.
The pavement is for pedestrians.

Barney the problem with electric scooters is that you usually see a boy and girl sharing one scooter with the girl on the back doing her hair or applying her make up or the person driving it talking on the phone our as happened to me a 12 year old boy suddenly appearing from between to parked vehicles in front of my car very lucky lad to still be alive personally think they should be banned completely as they are death traps

I’ve only seen one of these fun bikes which was threading its way through our market square…. not suitable for crowded places and too dangerous on open roads are my thoughts on the matter.
