It really is time that the police threw vermin like Piers Corbyn and the ignorant bottom feeders that follow him around in jail.

I don't agree with all your posts Ken, as you've probably spotted. But I'm right behind you on that one. I'm ashamed to say he was President of the Students Union when I was at Imperial. Spent too long on politics and not enough on studying!

There are times when you display extreme right wing views and yet there are others when you display worrying socialist tendencies. It's very difficult to categorise you, I do wonder if many of your posts are deliberately provocative, or maybe it's just your contrary Irish character.

I do not belong to any tribe or grouping so my views are based on nothing more than results and behaviour based on a comparison of what people say they will do versus what they actually do ... it is an element of human behaviour I find fascinating when people's opinion is determined by the 'who' rather than the 'what' ... I used to consider it to be a British eccentricity but it is becoming more global.

I have been accused of being both ultra right wing and ultra left wing ... always gives me a laugh, my actual politics would be slightly right of centre (based on several evaluations). In the period from 2000-2010 I was continually challenged for pointing out failures from Blair and Brown; I thought the 2010-2015 government was reasonably well balanced while operating in incredibly difficult times (they were not perfect); but British politics (and that in some other countries) has gone seriously downhill from 2015 as it is overtly driven by lies, social media mis-information and acceptance of ultra low standards from political representatives. We appear to be genuinely living in a 'Yes Prime Minister' pseudo reality.

Yesterday's man. A lying Prime Minister who led us into an illegal war we are still paying the price for. And with a communications chief who made Dom look like a Saint.

The farmers of Cumbria will be delighted. He had to be smuggled out of the back door after addressing them about foot and mouth disease. I don't think we have seen him up here since.
He clearly didn't get it for services as the Middle East envoy.
In all honesty the honours system is an outdated joke.

Disappointed not to see Kevin Sinfield’s name in the honours list. If anyone deserved some recognition he did.

I agree on that one Stephen especially when you see some of the honours handed out just for doing their normal job (and getting very well paid for it!!)

I think those in the front line of managing Covid, such as CW, JH and J V-T, deserved it, especially with all the abuse they have to take from the deniers and Facebook and Twitter experts. I see Dr Tracey and Professor Sharron were overlooked.

I would imagine the Firm see it as an insurance policy against those of influence who might otherwise be calling for this outdated institution to be scraped.

When the Queen goes, I’d be happy to see the Monarchy put out of business. :D

Very few of the honours emanate from the "firm" as you call it - the majority are recommendations from various sources.

Who gets gongs is among the million other things that seem to annoy others but doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I’m also not remotely interested in sporting awards, acting awards etc.

Seeing who receives gongs makes a mockery of the genuine individuals who fully deserve them whilst other deserving cases are overlooked.
I'm afraid some most of the awards to sports persons, pop stars and actors are questionable especially those who live abroad to reduce tax liability and drift over from time to time to tell the rest of us what we should be doing.
