At least people at now catching on to the smirking and the weird head movements that Johnson employs when being er……. less than candid.

Re: Current Affairs
The same rules should apply to Johnson and No 10 as they do to everybody else. I love the outrage of Ms Burley and her sidekick. They wouldn't do such a thing would they?

Burley got caught, took it on the chin and took her punishment.
Johnson got caught and … er …. smirked.
His days are well and truly numbered in my opinion.
As you know, I never thought he’d see out his term but now doubt he’ll last January.

Re: Current Affairs
I remember the absolute frothing on this forum about Kay Burley. Yet the same people can’t bring themselves to say a word against Boris Johnson, even now.oldbluefox wrote: 11 Jan 2022, 10:01The same rules should apply to Johnson and No 10 as they do to everybody else. As Barney said, Kay Burley held her hands up and apologised and took the punishment.
Johnson smirks and needs an enquiry to ascertain whether he was present at the party.
I suggest people Google the term ‘duper’s delight’. It describes Johnson body language perfectly

Re: Current Affairs
I was referring to the hypocrisy of Ms Burley who was photographed having organised her own birthday party in contravention of Covid regulations.
As for Boris I don't defend him at all. The same rules apply to him as they do to everybody else. I don't defend him but likewise I'm not wetting myself to see him sacked.

Re: Current Affairs
When did this get together take place and how many were involved, on 17th May the rules changed to allow up to 30 people in outdoor areas. It seems a bit nitpicky for the media to be getting so het up, even it happened a day or two earlier.

Re: Current Affairs
Why has this story only just surfaced 21 months after it allegedly happened? Why not before?
I did notice the old lady who lives opposite had visitors and she did receive them round by the back door. They were there a long time and surely they did not sit out in the rain. Do you think I should report her? A friend asked.......

If Boris has broken the rules I would not defend him. But I would prefer to await the outcome of the investigation before I assume guilty. And if Labour's bid for power is to be based on smirking, God help us. The next election may be over before we find out what their alternative policies are.

In other news I see it is claimed Novax lied on his immigration form for Australia, claiming he had not travelled anywhere else in two weeks before flying to Oz, when it seems he had. Let's ask him and see if he smirks.

Re: Current Affairs
I don’t think Johnson broke the rules Merv, I think he broke the law.
The law about lockdown on that date is not ambiguous.
It was, meet one person outside of your household, outside and a two metre distance.
So, a youngster could choose mum or dad.
Granny or Grandad.
Sister or brother.
As for the information getting out there.
Yet another leak from Downing Street.
He has clearly lost the confidence of the staff.

Either way I would not defend him if the investigation finds him guilty. I still prefer to wait for the conclusion of that rather than take the word of moles, Dominic Cummings and the media hacks. I find it amusing that among the Boris critics the once reviled and not to be trusted Dom is now next in line for Pope!barney wrote: 11 Jan 2022, 12:23I don’t think Johnson broke the rules Merv, I think he broke the law.

This is where we need a proper investigation rather than snippets of what may or may not have happened or the reports and hearsay of those who are out to bring him down. Find the truth and move on from there.

It depends on whether she is wealthy or not…if she is, it might be more beneficial to tell her what you are considering doing and see what she comes up witholdbluefox wrote: 11 Jan 2022, 12:01Why has this story only just surfaced 21 months after it allegedly happened? Why not before?

Ken Clarke once said "I do think that the Prime Minister [Johnson] has a tremendous skill in keeping a straight face while he is being so disingenuous." ... Johnson doesn't even care enough now to even try keeping a straight face.Gill W wrote: 11 Jan 2022, 09:39At least people at now catching on to the smirking and the weird head movements that Johnson employs when being er……. less than candid.
