On another note from the good old BBC.
In December, four Iranian men who crossed in small boats had their convictions for immigration offences quashed by the Court of Appeal, which concluded it had not been proven they intended to enter the UK illegally.
Don't you just love our courts system.

If yes go for porcelain but if no then go for porcelain cos it's far easier to keep clean.

No actually arthritis in my hand which is playing up at the minute making it difficult and sore to type ... but that is what my job is based on so you learn to deal with it and hope others can be understanding.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 08:58More trouble with the urban dictionary?Kendhni wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 07:32I wonder how long it will be before Johnson will start his politics of distraction to get himself out of the headlines ... some say the announcement on the BBC licence is it, but I don't think so ... something so petty and predicted will never hack it. #WortsPMEver

Having a go at the BBC to divert attention (allegedly) is testing my loyalty Boris!!!
But on balance I know which one I think will survive beyond 2027.

I think he has become a total embarrassment to the conservative party and indeed to the country at large. And whilst none of his cabinet are prepared to stick their head above the parapet they must also share in the shame of allowing this joke of a PM to continue…I can forgive Gove because he did try and tell us Boris wasn’t up to the job two years ago.Kendhni wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 11:16The man has no shame ... what do you think? As Max Hastings (someone who knows him well) said "Almost the only people who think Johnson a nice guy are those who do not know him.".
I think the big 3 contenders are Truss (a huge under achiever and blows whichever way the wind blows); Gove (a politician through and through, but for some reason I don't trust him); Sunak (who I think is playing it straight). If they don't get rid of the clown infesting number 10 then they are in trouble.

Today, January 17th is Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Boris could turn it into the best day of the year in one single announcement..

I gave him the bennift of doubt and then found out I’d backed another donkey.
Sunak is the bookies favourite to revamp Boris’s flat but I would most definitely look elsewhere…other than counting money which his family has billions of he has little or no experience in high office.
As you know my favourite would be Gove and while he has a reputation as a backstabber the biggest hurdle that he has to overcome is the support of those he would get rid of…and they know it.
Lis Truss may appear to blow with the wind but given the uplift I could see her fly in the job of PM.
If you are looking for an EW bet then Penny Mordaunt has a good sence of humour, is liked around Westminster and she knows how to tell good ‘cock’ stories.
Don't dismiss Jeremy Hunt, loathed by some, respected by many.

Penny Mordaunt - now there's a feisty lady as evidenced when she savaged Angela Rayner. This one is certainly no push over. PM? I don't know but she'll do for me.Onelife wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 14:48

As for the Boris bashers, bear in mind it could have been Jeremy Corbyn with Diane Abbott and the rest of his Metropolitan sidekicks.

Re next Tory leader. Not Jeremy Hunt please. I was told by a surgeon he was the worst Health Secretary ever. I'd hate to risk him stealing the crown Ken has awarded to Boris.
