What the Boris bootlickers have to remember is that there is zero evidence to suggest that a combination of Corbyn/Abbott would have been any worse or any better than Johnson/Patel ... what a depressing thought!oldbluefox wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 15:20As for the Boris bashers, bear in mind it could have been Jeremy Corbyn with Diane Abbott and the rest of his Metropolitan sidekicks.

The evidence is they were roundly rejected by the nation and ultimately put out to pasture by their own party.

But the jokes starring Diane Abbot were far superior to those depicting Boris

I am still trying to work out who was less numerate between Patel and Abbott - both have had some hilarious foobars
In a way I will the Bojo the clown - he really has made politics hilarious.

Labour critical but if the licence fee had gone up they would have been critical of that too.

I would sign it. I do think it's the, maybe ,older generation that appreciate the BBC for their output more than the youngsters who watch the likes of Netflix etc. A case of not appreciating what you have until it's gone.david63 wrote: 17 Jan 2022, 18:45I see that someone is now getting up an official petition to retain the TV licence fee![]()

Is that the same BBC with institutionalised support and shielding for child molesters? A lot more heads should have rolled over that, especially all those that knew and chose to cover it up. When Johnny Rotten dared to step out of line in 1978 the pervs in the beeb chose to ban him to protect the molesters.

I guess I would too, I think a subscription service would likely cost more, and I also quite like the idea that the govt has control of the license fee even if sometimes it's likely to to be a labour govt being overly generous..

I prefer to be young rather than a grumpy old man whose only response is 'grow up'

And you will be glad to know that I will not be lowering myself to be like you, what a hideous thought - so you don't need to fret either.
See an amicable agreement is reached in the end.
