P&O cruise on ebay

Unread post by Not so ancient mariner »

I have just found this cruise on ebay (!) Would P&O would honour the tickets if the names on the pssports didn't match the details they held. Would they permit the transfer of names if informed in plenty of time?

This bid ends in a few hours time and would cost £1,200 whereas I could book direct with P&O for approx £850 without any risk.

Admin charges of £100 do, did, apply for changes to a cruise booking but I would personally ask P&O if passenger changes could be made ... and if they said ' Yes ' I wouldn't buy it on e-Bay

Less than 4 hours to go - no bids. No surprise if it's cheaper with P&O!

Makes you wonder why they simply haven't claimed on their travel insurance.

I would go direct, it would be a bit of a bugger, if you bought it only to found out that it was non transferable, too much of a risk and it is way too expensive anyway

John is correct ... my price, above, was indeed for an outside cabin albeit one without risk.

In any event they hadn't a hope in Hell of selling it for £1,200 especially as they have Negative Feedback that states ...

" Item not received and seller not answered emails - AVOID "

The way that I read it was that it was £1200 for two i.e. £600 per pax - which for a balcony is a bargin.

However as it sails tomorrow it would be too much of a risk, and hassle, to get there

I would be looking for 60% not a mere 40% discount ;)

Is it a bargain ?

£600 pp works out at approx £85 per day whereas we booked a balcony cabin on the more expensive Adonia on a Getaway deal for approx £57 per day.

It didn't sell anyway. Bit of a strange thing to do, though, listing it on eBay. I'd love to know the story behind it
