Not much between them in my opinion but I think Palace probably just about deserved it while being quite unconvincing.

Cracking goal by Olise and better second half from Palace. Premier quality showed but Millwall didn't make it easy for them.

Re: Football 21/22
Absolutely trounced at home.
Embarrassing
Culminating in Dan Phillips picking up his second red of the season for two ridiculous bookings.
His behaviour, not the refs.
Relegation looms by the looks of it.
Tough times at Gillingham.

We have a six day relegation battle to focus on starting next Saturday against Newcastle, Burnley and Norwich so thank you to the Foxes for knocking us out of the FA Cup
He has a lot to learn about ' team ' work obviously ...barney wrote: 08 Jan 2022, 20:54Culminating in Dan Phillips picking up his second red of the season for two ridiculous bookings.

Gills sack the manager after that totally awful performance, team selection and tactics.
It must have been difficult to justify why he played our best CB in midfield and a full back up front.

Yeah but it ain't been easy for him has it? Covid running rife through the club and injuries. Must have been hell not knowing who was going to be available to train let alone play and trying to win points in the league.
I often think managers get the ' tin tack' when they don't really deserve it. Owners/chairman need to look at the bigger picture before sacking the Boss.
In a much more cheerful note. The Palace have a home cup tie to look forward to in the first time in ages. First out of the hat as well and we get Hartlepool. We have history with the 'monkey hangers'. They've beaten us in the Cup twice.

Forest v City, that will be a cracking match, a good local derby. Great win for them against the Gunners.

Re: Football 21/22
True it’s been a tough season for the reasons mentioned but …… MK was the first match for months that we were able to put out a half decent team.Bensham33 wrote: 09 Jan 2022, 17:19Yeah but it ain't been easy for him has it? The tactics were spot on and we got a well deserved point.
Next match at home to Ipswich (mid table) and he moves the only decent left back we have to play off the striker (while having two forwards on the bench)
He bought back a guy at left back who only has a fleeting association with a football (no good) and played Tucker our best CB by a mile in midfield.
So, at home he played one up front and three defensive midfielders.
We were all over the place until half time when he put the players back in the correct positions and made two changes.
The game was gone by then at 3-0.
Second half was obviously much better but still only a few attempts on goal.
We have won only three games this season.
We are not down yet but a change is obviously needed.
I’d imagine that the final conversation went something like this.
Scally- “why did you play so many out of position”
Evans- “are you questioning my management you p’ick”
Scally- “you’re fired”
My money is on Mick Flynn as the replacement but many others fancy Neil Harris.

Re: Football 21/22
It was a lacklustre display from Arsenal. Too many players strolling around, lack of urgency and they got what they deserved. Forest were up for it and were prepared to run their socks off. They clearly wanted it more than Arsenal and made up for the difference in skill with passion and determination.

Re: Football 21/22
Barney...fair enough but perhaps he was just trying something to try and get the team winning. Okay it failed, miserably and I can understand why Evans had left the club.
Good luck to the Gills I sincerely hope that whoever takes over can turn their season around and they stay up. There's lots of good coaches out there looking for work. Let's hope Scully chooses the right one.

Just watching MU vs Villa, I didn't realise that from a free kick situation a stationary player had to get out of the way if an opponent runs straight at him, seems overly polite to me.

Re: Football 21/22
Our previous one from Chelsea was s”it hot but got recalled and then sent to MK Dons.
I’m sure this guy will be ok.
It’s the other ten
Now our injuries are clearing up, it will be interesting until the end of the season.
Phillips banned btw.
Two games.
So, we have a new manager and a new keeper.
Onward and upwards

Standing in an offside position, fouls the player trying to defend the kick, foul all day long, as in the rule book. Only ABU’s see it differently.towny44 wrote: 10 Jan 2022, 21:18Just watching MU vs Villa, I didn't realise that from a free kick situation a stationary player had to get out of the way if an opponent runs straight at him, seems overly polite to me.

Just to make the craziness of Gillingham even more unbelievable, Charlie Kelman of QPR, who was returned by the previous manager has now rejoined for the second half of the season.
Confused?
I certainly am.

We got sold a right pig in a poke when we signed Vestergaard from Southampton. How that guy gets into the Denmark team is beyond me. He can't jump, he can't run and now we're stuck with the great lump of lard. Where is Mob when you need him?

This ones like a stick of celery. I wish someone would take him off our hands. How can you be so useless but play for your national team?

There have been a few players of the years where I’ve thought WTF.
Wes Brown ?
Man Utd and England
On about £60 k a week !!
We signed a lad called Christian Maghoma who came through the Spurs academy.
We signed him from a Polish side.
He looked like he’d never seen a football let alone played football at any level.
He only started twice and both times looked like he had Vaseline on his boots.
So he’s currently out on loan while his contract runs down.

ObF...you said that about Iheanacho, he turned out to be okay didn't he?
Barney....have the Gills appointed their new manager yet? Rumour is they are interested in Andy Woodman. They don't want him, he's bleedin useless.
Palace are at home to Liverpool on Sunday. Expect a Bloody from me later.

Do you want him? I'll drive him down. The sight of him ambling back when Spuds scored their third goal has scarred me for life. He should have been busting a gut to get back and what was he doing so far upfield anyway?
Good luck against Liverpool. You might need it.

No thanks. All our players are top notch, we have no room for 'donkeys'.
