Johnson overstepped the mark with his slur against Starmer the other day in parliament - it seems his head of policy has agreed with this view - she has resigned
Simple case of her not checking her facts…at least she has done the honourable thing.
Oops! I should have checked my facts as the reason behind her resignation wasn’t as I believed it to be, in saying she gave Boris the wrong information about Starmer, it was in fact because Boris didn’t have the balls to apologise to Starmer…. Apologies, to this principled lady.

She didn’t advise him to say it

I don’t mind missing out on the £150 due to my house band but I do feel aggrieved that energy companies will still be giving out bonuses to their directors.

Whilst Boris's delivery was appalling, the idea that Starmer should be blamed for the ineptness of the staff who worked for him, does have some significant similarities to Boris being blamed for all his underlings misdeeds.

What theses resignations tell us is that there are nasty viruses within parliament that are in desperate need of a vaccine.

Like me OL you are surely old enough to remember Macmillans night of the long knives, this particular virus has been lurking around Westminster since Walpole was PM.

Seems like the night of the long knives in reverse

Hold up, don’t we have to ‘wait for the conclusions of the Met’s enquiry’ and then ‘wait for the full Sue Gray report’

I’m all in favour of removing dead wood but I think the situation in Westminster is best summed up using the words of Jeremy Thorpe when he said "greater love hath no man than this - that he lay down his friends for his life."

Jeremy Thorpe ... his friend was Scott of the ar$e antics
Thorpe's favourite line from Star Trek was 'I need more thrust Scotty'

A real era for the headline writers.

I am guessing that while Boris was away visiting his friends, ally's and fund raisers in Russia that they all had a good search of Downing Street and have maybe found where Johnson had been hiding conservative integrity.

Why? Directors of any company only get a bonus if they achieve the results agreed in their contract. It is not the energy companies fault that the wholesale gas price is rising at a rate never seen before and from what I have seen and read the majority of energy companies are trying to mitigate the effect on their consumers.

I think that this business with the energy cap is yet another example of the media winding everyone up. Just because the price cap has been raised does not automatically translate into every household paying another £700 from tomorrow - especially as it does not come into effect until April, and bear in mind that is the time of year when consumption is starting to reduce.

It was nice to see the other main parties stand aside out of respect for Ames, leaving it basically uncontested.

Magnetic repulsion (I notice he was out of the country so that must have helped)

It would have been very difficult to lose that by election what with Labour, Liberals and Greens not fielding a candidate out of respect for David Amess.

Praps they didn't know it was on

However Jason Pilley of the Psychedelic Movement came second with 512 votes. UKIP's Steve Laws was third with 400.

I don't think it will make any difference to those who won't accept the findings of the Sue Gray Report anyway.
