Here we go again!

Unread post by Onelife »

Never liked the name Eunice but come Friday morning I think I’ll be disliking it even more. It looks like Shropshire is going to get another hammering as we are sitting right in the path of where the strongest winds are expected to hit.
Hold on to your roof tiles …here’s hoping for a good outcome.

Stay safe all.

Do you have the name of a good roofer - asking for a friend (just in case!)?

I do David but it took him 3 weeks to do the repair so make sure you’ve got plenty of buckets handy…or you could PM Foxy as he’s got some mates who will do it sooner, should you need them in an emergency…. They’ll also do your drive and hedges while they are at it…. Btw, did you know that Foxy was awarded Cumbria’s good citizen award, for his work helping ex-offenders back into work. :D

We are literally on the coast and expecting a battering.
There will be much shovelling of sand on the weekend I expect.
Sometimes the entire road is covered.

My daughter and three friends are supposed to be travelling back from Bude tomorrow but she's assured me they will stay on if it's as bad as the forecast.

Been there, done that, have had 100mm of sand on the flat roof. Luckily tomorrow's wind for us is a S Westerly, so it's off shore.
Hope it's not to bad barney

A wise decision looking at the path Eunice is supposed to be traveling. Our daughter has been asked to work from home tomorrow….she works in Hampshire.

Just occurred to me that last time there was a power cut possibility we had a gas cooker. Now we cook electric. So I've just nipped out and bought a little camping stove.

They are saying only travel is absolutely necessary Carole.
All shops, schools etc are closing.
Our coast has the worst forecast.
Tell her to get another bottle of wine in and ride it out. 👍

Good site Ken...looks like those on the south west coast will start feeling Eunice around 2am with the worst of it about 5am.
