Debbie.

One of our town centre Indian restaurant serves a starter called "Sexy Mushroom Masala"

Sliced mushrooms in a creamy curried sauce, served on a puri bread, and finished in the oven.

It's lovely....and even better it comes as part of their special deal (£15 per couple for 2 courses + rice or naan each + pops and pickles) :D

Pretty much anything up to jalfreizi for me, although I have to avoid anything with corriander leaf (I'm fine with the spice, just can't take the herb). Just leave some kulfi and Cobra for me, eh? :D

On our first two-week cruise on Oceana, we thought the Indian buffet was marvellous. On the last one, we found it very disappointing.

If anyone is going to Bristol, I would highly recommend the Namaskar Lounge. They do a wonderful cocktail of vodka and yoghurt - all you can taste is fresh garden mint.

Hi Darknightie

I always go for Shish kebabs... if you’re lucky they’ll look the same on the way out as they did when they went in

Regards

for me it would be:
onion bahjee or mixed Kebab, popadums and pickles but not the lime, devil snot
A lighlty spiced main with either lamb, beef or prawns, can't do the spicy stuff anymore, doctors orders :D
rice, peshwari naan
no pudding unless it is something special and not just ice cream
coffee

all this helped along by several Cobra or Tiger beers

Poppadoms with mango chutney
Starter: Chicken pakora, or king prawns tikka, occasionally onion bhaji or vegetable pakora
Main: King Prawn tikka masala (if not had prawns to start), or lamb Sindhi Korma, or Lamb Makhani (made with cream/pineapple/nuts, also like Machli Masala Piaz (chunks of fish served on a sizzler plate with onions, peppers)
Lemon rice with almonds and a garlic nan (shared with daughter)
A couple of large glasses of chilled Sauvignon Blanc
No pudding but liqueur coffee (but without the alcohol) and squares of chocolate produced especially for the restaurant

My brother usually goes for one of those super-hot currys ... I can never remember the name of it but it makes a vindaloo taste like a yogurt drink.

Years ago I was working with some Indian contractors and we thought we would take them out to one of our local curry houses. They were very unimpressed with what they got and after having a word with the chef got something specially made for them ... it was fantastic .. one of the best indian meals I have tasted.

I don't want a curry to be mouth-numbingly hot, I want it to have flavour
